A+++ Bob nailed it! Apple is abusing and making a killing off of uneducated people that aren't smart enough to read about what it is they're purchasing. Apple - very dishonorable! BAD!!!

Not by cracking DRM control like Hymn, there are mainly other two methods to bypass the DRM control for protected music.
The first method is to burn a copy to an audio CD and then rip/encode it. Some software products take a smarter method which allows user to burn music to a Virtual CD-RW disc and then automatically rip/encode the music stored on the Virtual CD-R. This makes the whole conversion process automatically and faster. NoteBurner (www.noteburner.com) is the typical example which uses this Virtual CD-RW drive method.
The second method is to use a recording software and sound card. There are a lot of these kind of software tools if you GOOGLE with the words of "sound record".

EDITOR'S NOTE: Umm, right. That's pretty much what the article and quite a few earlier comments have already said.

Do not use CD Emulator. I am glad I didn't buy, I downloaded the trial version and I DOES NOT work. iTunes did not recognize it as a CD Drive, I wasted about an hour and it didn't work.

Instead of knocking Apple and DRM and protected songs and what a pain it is, remember it is not Apple forcing those restrictions, its your friendly record company and music publishers. For Apple to sell copyrighted songs through iTunes, that's the restrictions that the record companies have placed on Apple. And by the way, in case you wondered why different pricing for music exists in iTunes stores around the world, do NOT knock Apple again, Yes, it's the usual suspects practising differential pricing

I have tried many softwares which claim that they can convert the DRM protected music to plain mp3, however I was disappointed again and again. Recently, my friend introduced Noteburner to me, I tried, and it impressed me. It really worked, fast, easily, perfectly! Now, I strongly recommend the program. Hope Noteburner will also help you guys.

I am trying to convert an iTunes to mp3, I've tried many times to burn the song I want from iTunes, but my Nero cd burning software "Does not recognize the format"....now what?

EDITOR'S NOTE: Maybe the disk is bad? Try the burning software built into iTunes.

Copied itunes music fine using itunes burner to virtual cd created by noteburner, but lost all info. What do I need to do? Other forum comments about this seem to relate to the actual burning of a cd not a virtual cd.

EDITOR'S NOTE: Noteburner is useful because you can export an iTunes song to a file on your hard drive (the virtual CD) instead of using a physical CD disk. If the virtual drive is N: (for example) then you can copy the MP3 files from the N: to C: drive.
