I thank apple for inventing/bringing to market iTunes, the iPod, the notebook computer, the mouse, firewire, the mac/windows interface...and just about everything else we are using to type our complaints about Apple. I think it's kinda funny... ;-)

Thanks, but I can't get it to unlock the keys when it logs on to iTunes store. On Mac G4, sys 10.3.9. iTunes 7.3.2... I have my correct passwords... Also, iTunes won't recognize my 3rd party (high-end LaCie) CD burner... Any thoughts...and have a great day...

Sorry, maybe I need to clarify, the above comment, the info I lost is the Artist, Album, Song Name etc. The songs copy OK but Noteburner is simply recording track 1, 2, 3 etc and not the original itunes info. The "id3tag" boxes are checked in noteburner but titles are still lost. Is there any way of retaining that info in the copy without having to re-enter/edit all the song and artist data for every song I convert? Please help?

EDITOR'S NOTE: In iTunes, go to Edit / Preferences / Advanced / Burning, then check the CD Text option, before you burn a disk with NoteBurner

This is really starting to p/o me. Everybody says this is so easy, when really ITS NOT! Yes, I've followed all the directions and I still get errors... here let me explain my process:

1. New Playlist (songs I want to burn to a CD).
2. Insert CD and burn songs onto the CD as Data disc (all my songs are differente files .m4p .mp4, AAC and when I try to change I get the permission error thing.)
3. Remove disc, insert disc.
4. The CD appears in iTunes, and I set my import settings to MP3 encoder. And usually the import cd button appears on the bottom of iTunes but ITS NOT THERE! So I do the drag and drop method but then MY SONGS ARE STILL AAC PROTECTED. When I try to just right click and convert file to MP3 I STILL GET THE ERROR!

Please if anyone can tell me what I'm doing wrong it would be VERY APPRICIATED! (please not stupid answers like maybe your putting the CD in the wrong drive).

I can't seem to figure out how to use the CD burner in iTunes. It doesn't let me select it. Burning an audio CD seems to work fine with Nero, but I was hoping to skip a step.

just buy your music from Amazon MP3... it's cheaper, comes in an MP3 format and is DRM-free !!!!!!

Two things: first, to unlock the files you need to burn them to an audio cd, then rip them back to the computer. Second, If you don't want to use an entire spindle of CD-Rs, purchase a CD-RW. It is a rewritable disc and can be burnt and erased many times.

EDITOR'S NOTE: Or use Noteburner, which doesn't require ANY CDs.

Thank you so much for highlighting the issue of paying for music, then only being able to play on Apple equipment. It is a complete injustice, and Apple are no better than record companies in the bad old days that charged 15UK pounds for a CD that cost less than 3UK Pounds to manufacture.

I downloaded AND PAID FOR a song called "Gimme Rice" from I Tunes by a band called Dr Ring Ding. It was a rare Ska Song. Then after several weeks, I have start reentering passwords to listen to what I have paid for. And even then its only on my IPod. Why can't I stick this on a compilation CD with other tracks I want hear??

NO MORE ITUNES. GOODBYE YOU GREEDY PEOPLE. And for heaven's sake, don't these FOOLS realise that this kind of capitalistic DOWNRIGHT NASTY behaviour actually encourages illegal downloading?!
