Hi Bob,
I followed your instructions and they worked perfectly. My only problem is that the tracks are named as track 1, track 2 etc.
I can't seem to find a way to maintain the original track/artist names.

Thank you for your help.
Lynn

Thanks a lot. I read a bunch of articles on this and yours was the first that actually helped me convert my files!

Bob,
You are gold. Finally, all my pertinent questions have been answered and all this after a lot of frustrating net searching.
I have the same problem with my protected songs dowloaded with Sony's Sonic Stage (what a mistake that was!!!) and I don't want to repeat the same mistake by using iTunes. So, it's back to the net to find a good on-line store where I can download music in whatever format I choose!
Cheers mate.

Hey Bob, thanks for this. I have a question, though:
when I tried this with an album I bought from the iTunes store, it converted the first 5 tracks and then iTunes just froze on the sixth. I've tried over and over to convert the rest of the tracks, but no matter which on I selected, the same thing would happen. I went through the instructions exactly as they were posted here, so I'm not sure what's gong wrong. I've also tried to import them as mp3s, but that didn't work.

I followed your instructions and iTunes actually saved a copy of the songs that I selected as .MP3 which I then copied to a disc from my music folder. I couldn't burn the disc from iTunes. Still need to copy these to my MP3 player...I hope it works. Thanks!
