I would like to ask please, if once I have changed my import settings to 'MP3 Encoder' - will it solve the problem for future purchasing of songs from itunes in regards being able to burn a CD in MP3 format and not be restricted to an 80min cutoff on the audio format?

EDITOR'S NOTE: Changing that setting won't affect the format of any new songs you purchase from iTunes.

Converting from AAC to MP3 is not recommended as you are re-encoding an already compressed audio file. You should mention this in your article because these are people who have paid for their music and ultimately are destroying the file. If you must do it, make a copy of the file first and save the original as backup.

I am using a iMac and iTunes. I bought the song from iTunes and could not plat it in my MP3 Player. I tried burning a cd of the song, then importing it to iTunes and converting it to a MP3 and it still will not convert the song to an MP3.
