Whenever I put a Blank CD into my computer to try to burn music to it, my computer doesn't recognise that it's there on iTunes or windows media player and when i check the cd drive through "my computer" it's empty.

EDITOR'S NOTE: You'd expect a blank CD to show as empty, right? What happens in iTunes when you try to burn to this disk?

Thank You!! This worked perfect. I have a new LG550 Fusic phone that refused to play my M4P's, I installed Jhymn in under 5 min's and ran it. It executed flawlessly and now all my itunes can play on my phone.

Note: when usig Jhymn, i noticed there were four files you needed to point jHymn at. The first two is the itunes library and the backup file. The other two are on a different tab in jHymn and are the same name as the itunes library, but .xml and .iti extensions.

Bob, Thanks for being there! I purchased TuneBite as per your suggestions and I have converted 2 albums to MP3 and lots of popping on all tracks. Using itunes 6.0 any suggestions?

EDITOR'S NOTE: I can only guess that your computer may be low on memory or CPU horsepower. You might add memory, or be sure to close all other applications before trying again.

Top bombing Bob. Here's one for you. Similar question, I'm trying to convert itunes files for use on a Creative Zen, but... I stupidly bought a comedy audiobook which is one track long (2 hours 40 minutes) that I can't burn to Audio CD and rip back, and I'm too tightfisted to buy a program to convert it. Also stupidly, I've just upgraded to version 7 itunes. Do I have any other options?

EDITOR'S NOTE: You might find an older version of iTunes (see the comments on this article) and then try JHymn.

I just wanted to say thanks, this was exactly what I needed to walk a buddy through the process of undoing what i(idiot)tunes did for him. itunes ruined all my dj mixes before and will never be used by me again.

Yeah, the protection on songs sucks bad. I have a nice stereo and i can tell no difference between an mp3 and AAC file. I have an ipod and it said it couldn't hold a charge. i even went to the store and the tech there told me that was the problem also. i had to pay to send it in and they told me the only reason it quit working was because i needed to update its software. and it cost me $30 for them to tell me that. when i bought it they made it seem like i could just take it back to the store, but who am i to think a good store would back its warranty in person like with all my other stuff i have ever bought. Just me i guess.

Here's a tip that can save you some time and a bunch of CDs. Download and install a CDRW emulator. It sets up a fake CDRW on your harddrive so that you can burn your music to the drive instead of a cd. You then use whatever software you have to convert (rip) to whatever format you want (I use dbPoweramp and Windows Media Player). When you're done, just delete the fake drive. Fast and cheap!

An excellent aritcle, really. Thanks Bob! Yes, people should have rights to make copies to their closest relatives or make personal copies of the purchased music, in order to use the music and video in car, in portable player like iPod, PSP and Cell, in his/her laptop computer, etc.

Seems like someone up high has been listening - new version of iTunes 7.0.1.8 : goto Edit>Preferences>Advanced>Burning and check the "MP3 CD" option. Then just burn to CD and be happy! I did a whole bunch of songs last night and it truely worked! The only problem is loss of MP3 information but I worked around that by using CDex (SoundForge Freeware), here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/cdexos/ - and all the information can be put back in no time. Hope this helps.
