Sound Taxi (http://www.bestshareware.net/soundtaxi-drm-converter.htm) can convert Itunes to MP3, CD, iPod and other MP3 player file formats at high speed and CD quality- legally. It can also convert wma to wav sound files.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. I've been converting files all night for a school video project (with sound) and you made getting my audio track the most super fast part of the work so far! Granted, it's a pain to burn a cd, then convert... but I can't imagine how long it would have taken me to figure that out without this fabulous info you've placed here on this page! AWESOME!

For some reason, I can't get anything to convert M4P to MP3's. I have iTunes 7.0.2.16. I cut an Audio CD & it's still saying it's protected. I tried cutting an MP3 CD with the same results. Tunebite did not work since I don't have sound card (I have a laptop only) and neither did Jhymn (since I'm on iTunes 7). I also tried installing old iTunes 5 from OldApps, but then it said I needed to upgrade and iTunes wouldn't even play the tunes I bought (I had to reinstall 7). Do you have any other suggestions or know where I can buy a MP3's per song (I don't want to sign up for a subscription service...I just want to buy a few MP3's and play them on my Creative Zen). What's even worse is that I work in the computer industry and I can't figure this out...my balloon is deflated ;-(

EDITOR'S NOTE: I think Napster and Walmart both have pay-per-song options.

Convert itunes to MP3:
The way I do it is to burn a CD with iTunes then Rip the CD with freeware. It will lost some quality. Or you may use tunebite which needs payment to directly convert itunes to mp3. Its guide is located at

In the mid 80's I bought an apple 2gs for $3000.00. It had no hard drive and all software needed to be booted by inserting a systems disk and telling it to boot your game. Software was rare but I was told more would come. Egghead informed me one day that there would be no more software made for my computer, because apple was going with the macintosh.......Huh? Apple gave no reason and did not offer any kind of conversion kit. I was left in the cold, with a $3000.00 paperweight. As the saying goes "Screw me once..your fault/Screw me twice..My fault!! This is all to tell the person who was offended at the apple insult that, yes it is about the money!

oldversion.com now says that iPod is not available. Any other places to go to get an older version of ITunes?

EDITOR'S NOTE: YES! Try http://www.oldapps.com/itunes.htm
