I also have a restarting problem. It happens randomly most of them time but anytime I am playing "The Sims" it seems to happen every 10 minutes. I have unchecked the automatic restart, and that has not solved the problem. My fan frequently runs loudly so Im thinking it may be a temperature problem. I will keep everyone updated, because if thats not the problem I would like to see if we can't all find solutions to our problems

Help !!!!!, I just bought a new video card and it told me to uninstall any previous versions of old graphics drivers. I so uninstalled the graphics drivers and had to unplug my Floppy drive to have enough voltage for my graphic card. I uninstalled the Nvidia driver and the EVGA resolution changer, and now my computer restarts itself over and over again. It doesn't even make it to the Windows bar page ( the black screen with the XP logo and then a bar under it that moves 3 blue squares left to right) and before that it would go did not shut down properly. so I go start normally or safe mode but then it would just restart. So help!!!

EDITOR'S NOTE: I would put the OLD video card back in...

I am using Windows XP. Recently I found that everytime I wanted to download a file from any site, my computer restarts. Suspecting that the download accelerator might be a problem, I uninstalled it, but the problem still occurs. Suspecting the firewall, or the security setting, I put it the the low level, but still no success.

I tried to uninstall realplayer, but the problem still persists. I am at a loss as to what to do. If necessary, I thought I will remove Windows XP and reinstall to see whether this can work or not. I tried to run msconfig, but after a second the computer reboots. I don't even have a chance to view the settings.

EDITOR'S NOTE: I would remove all non-essential sotware packages and run thorough anti-virus and anti-spyware scans. See http://www.askbobrankin.com/should_i_buy_antispyware_or_antivirus_software.html

I experienced the same problem. Three perfectly fine computers were disconnected from our network about six months ago. When I decided to try them last week, they just restart by themselves every few minutes.

Please HELP me. My computer restarts again and again. Its Intel motherboard MODEL D845GVSR.I use Windows XP and Windows 2000 Pro.My system restarts whenever I play a game. I use speedfan 4.29 but it shows only the HDD temperature. I am not able tosee the CPU temperature. Please tell me why.

EDITOR'S NOTE: Have you tried cleaning the heatsinks on the motherboard? Dust will cause overheating. Could also be bad RAM. Swap them out one by one and see if the problem persists.

I had a problem with my pc restarting and shutting down by itself. I updated all my drivers, and still had the problem. I thought maybe it was my video card, memory, sound card, harddrive. after removing one piece at a time i found ot that wasnt the problem either. I changed the power supply, and bingo, no problem. $35.00 could maybe save u a lot of headaches.
