I'm trying to add music to a myspace group page. I added the song to my profile and then viewed the source, but I'm unsure of what I should copy and paste... I tried several times with different bits of coding from the spot where the player is but have been unsuccessful. Any suggestions?

It's probably better to go third party with something like SoundSpire.com. You get more tracks, and you can use any music you want.

Bob thanks alot for some of your suggestions, particularly the one with uplaoding hard drive songs to Myspace. However, I got a delimma,. I'm mapping my songs from a neat program called Xdrive, which allows up to 5Gb of free data including songs and photos. Using your example for geocites, I was able to pull this trick off nicely and I'm also capable of running multiple songs from within Myspace at a time. Its so cool. But the problem is, there is a button below the player that says, 'Save this playlist to my computer.' I wasn't sure how it work for just anyone that was my friend, so i decided to log in under my sons profile and low and behold, the button is also available to him. He is actually capable of downloading any song in the playlist from the player to his hard drive. At the moment its not a problem, since I've only got two friends and my kids into my profile. But the question I have is, is there a way I can remove the 'Save this playlist to my computer, button or at least have a fixed window for the player instead of one that you are able to scroll around in. If you need to see what I'm talking about, I'll be more than happy to email you a copy of my page..Please help. Thanks

There is a little known freeware program called Clickster (www.remlapsoftware.com). In addition to searching for and downloading mp3 files from the Internet, Clickster lets the enduser create Playlists of mp3 files found. You can configure your own Flash media-player and then, Clickster produces the code for you to Paste the media-player and playlist into your MySpace Profile, Blog or Comments. The mp3's are streamed from their original location, there is not hosting involved and the whole process takes less than two minutes.

Clickster's creators, Remlap Software have a fairly rubbish MySpace page, but they do have a demo of this feature running on their page www.myspace.com/remlapsoftware.com

Hi Bob, I have an artist/band myspace page and I'm wondering if there is a way to find out what users/profiles have added one of my songs to their page? I'd like to know this information to figure out which of my songs are better candidates for rotating out for new material so I don't leave too many users with the dreaded "This artist has deleted this song" message on their profile player.

EDITOR'S NOTE: Don't know of a direct way to do that. But Google does index Myspace pages, so a Google search MIGHT turn up something useful.
