I just tried FaxZero and it works as described here and on their own web page. It was simple and took less than 1 minute. This is the first fax I've sent in about 4 years, I do everything by email, unfortunately, emailed documents are still not acceptable for legal and insurance related documents. For the little I need it, I don't mind that the recipient receives a 1 page cover with advertising, they won't accept my email so they can print out and read an ad;-)

I second the comments on Maxemail.com for fax use. When I signed up they were less expensive for my level of use than the likes of eFax (I've used them both now) especially if you go ahead and commit to a year. Both are good services.

Far and away the best outgoing FAX service is at http://www.box.net . Box.net is a free service for sharing files, but their best feature is the ability to send free unlimited FAXes to anywhere on Earth. You need to:
1. Open a free account
2. Click on the OpenBox tab to add a service
3. Add the eFax service (you only do this once)

To send a FAX, upload any pdf, doc, xls, tif, tiff, rtf, txt, or html file to Box.net. Then right click on the uploaded file and choose "Send with eFax".

Re: FaxZero
I'm sure many of your readers don't live in the USA - it would be nice if you suggested services that we could use.
Greetings from the Faroe Islands.

EDITOR'S NOTE: There is a link in the article with other services you can try: http://askbobrankin.com/free_internet_faxing.html

I thought everyone would appreciate knowing I recently added a few more fax services to my eFax guide; it now includes faxing plans from $2.00 a month to $64.95 for unlimited e-mail to fax service.

Please stop by www.a2.com/telecom/freefax.html

I wish I was as fortunate as most of your other readers. I tried FaxZero.com. The best I could get out of them was an "Oops! There was a Problem." message.
