Is it genuine to subscribe to Limewire Pro or is it all a money making exercise for the providers? EDITOR'S NOTE: The Pro version gives you extra features and faster downloads. It does NOT give you any additional rights to download copyrighted music. If you want popular music from well-known artists, LimeWire is not the right tool to do it legally. Try iTunes for that. |

How do you put things on limewire? EDITOR'S NOTE: You just start using it. Limewire will share your media files if you put them in the correct folder on your hard drive. You can check which files you’re sharing by clicking on the Library tab. |

I used to have Limewire but uninstalled it because my conscience no longer allows to me download songs illegally. I have disposed of all CDs I burned with illegal songs on them. However, I do understand that it is possible to use Limewire to download some songs legally, the ones that are not copyrighted. How do I know which ones are legal when I search for them in Limewire? EDITOR'S NOTE: Limewire won't give you that info. In general, if something is sold commercially, it is copyrighted. If you find a website for an independent band that's just starting, they may encourage you to download their music for exposure. |

I have been using Limewire AND a program called ARES to download all my favorite music videos and MP3 files......But, now, ANY VIDEO (only video!) I download will not play correctly, and its Like it has Black Lines streaming through the video (I play the file on Windows Media Player) And the video plays upside down sometimes! PLEASE HELP! EDITOR'S NOTE: If they play okay in another video player, it must be a corrupted source file. Some copyright owners are intentionally uploading bad/bogus copies of songs and videos to make it harder for people to use Limewire and other piracy tools. |

What are some of the tell-tale signs/parameters that would allow me to make a wise decision as to what file I can feel relatively safe downloading? Also, if I run an up-to-date spyware sweeper and an Antivirus through my downloads file before executing the files, I should be safe, right? EDITOR'S NOTE: You should be safe from spyware and viruses. As for copyrighted materials, pretty much ANYTHING in the entertainment world created in the past 70 years should be avoided. |

Songs, software, programs...all of these are really IDEAS. They're not apples, they're not antique clocks. If you have ONE IDEA, you can share it with 5000 people, for free, like Jesus did. The loaves and fishes metaphore. EDITOR'S NOTE: First, it's not YOUR idea. If the OWNER of the idea wants to share it, fine. Second, didn't Jesus also tell us to "Render unto Caesar that which is due?" |

Why do people not just pay for the darn thing? On iTunes, TV shows cost $1.99. Movies are $9.99, and you can burn it onto your own DVD later on. Songs are .99 cents! |

I had Kazaa about a year ago, but uninstalled the program after a couple of days. So, has the program been deleted from my system completely? Will the files that were downloaded still continue to be shared with others? EDITOR'S NOTE: No file sharing will continue. But I recommend a good spyware scanner to see if anything nasty remains...
