I used your code suggestion when setting up my myspace account Nov. 2006 and it worked fine. I recently edited my profile and tried to use the code again. However, when I saved the changes, myspace reformatted the code into something else that doesn't work. It seems myspace won't accept that code anymore and changes it, but the changes don't work. Any suggestions? EDITOR'S NOTE: As mentioned above, there's a Myspace bug affecting the addition of EMBED code to a profile. If you're following the instructions and the code is coming out jumbled, it's not your fault. Hopefully Myspace will fix this problem soon... |

I used the code as provided, however, as someone already stated, it only works in IE, not in Firefox. EDITOR'S NOTE: This is a new problem. Myspace is changing the EMBED codes into an equivalent OBJECT tag that only works in IE now. |

I was making my Geocities account and I thought I had entered everything. But when I clicked Continue to Geocities a box popped up saying the info you entered was entered in encrypted format but will be sent over and unecrypted connectiona and can easily be read by a third party. So I clicked cancel and just went to check my email for registration but then when I signed in it just kept asking me for my password. whats the deal? EDITOR'S NOTE: That "could be read by a third party" is a silly warning, ignore it next time unless you're doing online banking. |

Now that myspace is changing our codes on us, do you know how to manipulate the new code in order to make the song play in a loop? EDITOR'S NOTE: I tried adding loop="true" but that seems to be ignored. |

Great tutorial. Worked first time! Question, how did this guy in the link below, embed the mp3 player he is using? Any idea? It looks to be popular. http://myspace.com/rza EDITOR'S NOTE: Looks like a band profile, they all have that kind of player. |

Hi, in addition to the parser not recognizing the "Loop" parameter as you mention, it seems like it is now not recognizing the "Autostart" parameter from the embed line, at least when uploading a Windows media player video. I've tried adding "Autostart" (and "Loop") manually after the object code is generated but it seems like the system ignores them and won't even let me add the line. Any way around this? I now have four videos on my page that autostart and have to be turned off manually because I can't set them to autostart=0 like I could before the mid-January round of code changes. t hanks. |

I'm a IE 6.0 user on Win98... Quicktime doesnt work on my computer... I've read through the whole geocities site & even registered for the free account... I still cant figure out how upload my music files to myspace... Please I need help! EDITOR'S NOTE: You don't upload anything to Myspace. You upload to Geocities, then reference that filename in the CODE you paste into the Myspace profile. |

Thanks, it works. But I don't want a visible player. I only want background music that automatically plays. How do you do that? EDITOR'S NOTE: Maybe the CSS trick will work. Enclose the whole thing in a DIV with style="display:invisible". |

If the embed tag does not work anymore and myspace automatically changes the embed to an object tag how do i go about playing my music that I am had running off of a server? Before this chnage came about I had my music player hidden, on autostart and with loop. Will I still be able to do that? EDITOR'S NOTE: If you don't touch it, it may not break. Otherwise, it will get modified. |
