I use GarageBand and it automatically sends songs to iTunes in aiff files. Whenever I try to upload it onto a myspace page it says that the file is too large. What should I do?

EDITOR'S NOTE: I'd look for a utility to convert the AIFF to MP3, then upload MP3 to Myspace.

I built a page on Geocities, and used the upload a file to add my mp3, however I can't figure out how to put it on the page itself! It shows under the file manager there, but I just can't figure out how to add it to the page. Sorry I'm an old broad in a techno world, and lost!

EDITOR'S NOTE: You first have to take note of the URL (address) of the MP3 file on Geocities. Then just plug that URL into the template shown above.

I have removed this payer from my myspace code and now i get a blue box at the top right of my page and it will not go away. How do i make it go away?

EDITOR'S NOTE: It's hard to guess what you mean, but my guess is that you have an error or typo in the HTML code that you've added to your profile.

I can't get this to autoplay.... even when I click the play button, it won't play. My flash & quicktime are updated & I am using IE.

After I copy your code & plug in the URL twice, myspace converts it to an OBJECT (it puts in the autostart param by itself)... do you need to add it in again somewhere?

EDITOR'S NOTE: No, you don't need another autostart. Maybe your MP3 is damaged?

The code does work..and i used it to play my mp3 audio file on myspace. But is there anyway to do like a playlist version, where i can play serveral mp3s..isntead of having an indivdual code for each mp3 file?

I have searched the interent for Flash MP3 Players with playlists. but somehow using those Flash players, it chances the audio pitch quality of my mp3 file. Do you know why? Is there a difference between Flash and non flash players?

I have made my website and uploaded the .mp3 file into my File Manager successfully. However, I am completely lost as to what step I should take next! When I click the View tab
it plays the file in WMP and I can't find a code anywhere.

EDITOR'S NOTE: I'm not sure what hosting site you are using, but if you mouse over the link to your MP3 file, you can right-click and then select Properties to see the full URL of the file.

You can also add music to your site by finding it on the web. For example, using IE find a website that allows downloads, wav, mp3's, etc. Hover your mouse over the link and along the bottom of your exployer it should show you the address of where that file is located. Write that down. Then follow the directions that the nice editor has laid out for you and simply insert that address into the code. That is what I have been doing and it works great. There you can also change it to repeat if some smuck spends a lot of time on your site.

EDITOR'S NOTE: Actually, I don't recommend that approach. You'll be "stealing" bandwidth from the person who hosts the file, and it may cause them a higher bill, or result in access to the file being restricted.

Here's something I did that may help those who've tried everything and need an alternative. When I started my Geocities site wouldn't let me upload my files for some reason. So I looked for another uploader and found DivShare. When you sign up for free, they give you unlimited uploads for files up to 200mb, which is pretty good in my opinion. So I uploaded my file and inserted the URL into the html provided here. When I put it on my mysapce all I got was a white box where the player shouldve been. With all hope almost gone, I checked DivShare one last time and found out they give you an html code to use. So I tried it and it actually appeared on my myspace. The Divplayer doesnt have a description of the track, so you have to manually type one in above/below where the player will be, and I havent checked for autostart/repeat, but it's pretty nice in my opinion. I'm sure you should be able to put more than one one your page, so for those looking for an alternative you should try DivShare.

Thank you, thank you. I have two new songs on my myspace music site (I am a songwriter) and I posted them three nights ago and today they STILL would not play. So to at least have my pals hear one of them, I uploaded it to my regular myspace page. It works fantastically! Thanks so much again.
FYI- I made URLs out of my songs by uploading them to a blog site I already have, on fireplace. Fireplace is a great blog page place for only $7 a month, just to let ya all know. I love it. No, they are not paying me to promote it, either!
