I cannot edit or delete or create screen names since changing to free plan...actually I could at first but about a week ago the feature isnt there for free...it jus says..error sorry not available..so my brother changed back to 9.95 and voila..he can now create and delete names again...HMMMM

So, I am going to have to opt for the 9.95 service, to make all the changes in screen names? Is it legal for Aol to dupe people that way? We were all told free AOL would keep our screen names and choice of 6 others as it was when we paid.. what's to stop me from canceling and going back to free after I do what I need..? It's prob going to come to that.. no problem, Aol screws.. Aol gets screwed back I guess..

You know, I have been a member of AOL since 1998, a paying one till 2006 and, everytime I had a technical problem with AOL, I would call to ask for help. Just about everytime I would call, I would get hold of a tech that was from a forgien country that spoke very influent english and, with me being practicly computer inept, frustrated me to the point to where I did become nasty with those techs (and, it was not one sided there either). After some time of dealing with aol or, trying to understand the techs, I stopped calling for their assistance, I would work with it till I figure the problem out myself or, have my son do it for me. No though, I am a free aol customer and, as others have complained here about not being able to delete/create a new screen name, I too am having that problem. It says on there you are allowed 7 screen names to one account so, maybe it is that AOL has misled us once again.............BIG SURPRISE!!

I too was an AOL paying user for many years. I have now switched to earthlink, but do have a free account with AOL. For over two weeks, however, I cannot get onto AOL due to a "Server Busy" reply every time I attempt to log on. I do have many important contacts in my address book on AOL and have not been able to access them. Can anyone assist me? Of course, since I do not pay for AOL, they won't assist me.

I also have been trying to delete my screen names this morning as I want to totally close out my AOL account. After trying several times with no success...I called AOL...it appears it will cost me 9.95 to delete my screen names...so I guess I have to have aol for one month so I can delete my names....THANK YOU AOL FOR THIS FREE SERVICE YOU ADVERTISED ABOUT ON TV FOR MONTHS...HONESTY DOES NOT MEAN ANYTHING TO YOU DOES IT...AOL SHAME ON YOU!!! I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY 9.95 to CLOSE MY ACCOUNT!!!!

EDITOR'S NOTE: Why not just stop using it? How does deleting the screen names help?

I recently acquired internet connection via DSL. Previously I had been connecting via AOL dialup. Last night I went into my AOL account and changed my plan to Free. My family had three email addresses that we setup and were using with the dialup service. Will we be able to go to www.aol.com and continue to use the email addresses the same as when I was paying for AOL service? Will we still have our address books, favorites, etc? Is there any thing additional I need to do to retain and use the email addresses?

EDITOR'S NOTE: Everything should work the same, your email addresses will remain. You can even continue to use the AOL software to access your email if you like.

I can't believe that i can't tALK TO A PERSON WHEN I CALL AOL. I am having problems with my password and can't get any help. They can't find my account threw my phone number or zip code. What am i suppose to do. I haven't been able to get my e-mails for weeks.

A friend would like to delete her free aol acccount. Can you explain to me on how she can do this? Thank you for your time in advance and I think AOL is doing a great job, I have had AOL for a long time and have always received the help I needed when calling or using the tech's online.

EDITOR'S NOTE: Then why not contact them and ask? What would be the practical difference between deleting her account and just not using it any more?

Has anyone had a problem with getting everyone on an account online at the same time? We have dsl and free aol with 6 screen names, but only 2 of us can get on at the same time. If a third family member tries to get on they just hear "goodbye". Can't find anything about this in aol's help categories. Any ideas?

We have been living overseas, for bout 4 yrs. now, and from Cali. We are with the government, working, and finally getting outta here, to go back home,,,,!!!! YES WHAHOOOO,,,
I kept or got AOL.COM, for the IM, Chatting so I could chat with my parents, and some of my other family,,,,ok, but mostly use Yahoo.com, anyways, I have heard how hard it is, to get your Acct. streight, just to stop them from taking out or off your credit card,,,sooooo what is your, advice, just keep it, like it is, or?
