I just changed to free AOL after years of paying for no real service (since I have a Mac). I mean they don't even update the sign-on screen any more. So I changed over to free. I go online with a high-speed server to get to my AOL. But now, if I want to access a website, either from the http bar or from the body of an email I might be reading, I cant get the website; just a star which indicates that the connection is not being made. What's up and what can I do about it? EDITOR'S NOTE: I don't understand how using the free AOL service (which is all web-based) could affect anything else on your Mac. You're not still using the AOL software, are you? |

I have a friend that just signed into Netzero with dialup, not dsl. When he accesses the AOl mail screen and enters his name and pass, a new screen is presented showing "Connect". How can this be corrected? EDITOR'S NOTE: Sounds like your friend is firing up the AOL software, and trying to login to AOL mail. Tell him instead to visit http://webmail.aol.com with his web browser. That will avoid the "Connect" prompt. |

I'm considering switching from my aol service to the free aol service. Will I lose everything that I have saved in my favorites and saved emails? EDITOR'S NOTE: No, you shouldn't lose anything. |

My parents are finally getting a new computer and high-speed Internet (probably through cable). Can they still use the AOL software, or should I not even install that software for them? EDITOR'S NOTE: They can still use the AOL client software, but if the only thing they use it for is email, you might just set up a browser bookmark to http://www.aol.com so they can login to AOL and the webmail interface. |

I HAVE BROADBRAND NOW ,I HAVE CANCLED MY AOL ACOUNT . CAN I DOWNLOAD AND USE AOL 9.0 AND GO IN UNDER GUEST AND USE MY FREE AOL ACCOUNT .WITH OUT SIGNING BACK UP WITH AOL? EDITOR'S NOTE: (Does AOL freeze the CapsLock key in the ON position?) As far as I know, you still need a (free) account to use the AOL services. |

I switched to free AOL a few months ago but I'm still getting charged via automatic withdraw from my account. What do I need to do to stop this? EDITOR'S NOTE: Just go to Keyword: Change Plan on AOL and click the Free button. |

Is there an easy way to move all of the messages (700) from my AOL Mailbox into my DSL Mailbox? How about my saved messages from my AOL Filing Cabinet into my new Mailbox Filing Cabinet? EDITOR'S NOTE: Other than sending them to your new mailbox, I can't think of a clever way to do it, sorry. |

Do i download free aol first or get screen name first? EDITOR'S NOTE: With free AOL, there is nothing to download. Everything happens in your web browser. |

I had to get DSL(broadband) so I could run my web-cam - so I could see my grandson in another country- I have to pay for DSL - so I transferred to AOL free - I have lost the ability to go to a chat-room - It is like they wiped them away - I had links on the old computer - but this one has Vista - and I can't find any of my old links - I am so tired of this - now I have no way to ask questions since I was told AOL free has no telephone help |

I want to change to the free aol, but one question no one has asked you so I need to, since aol allows up to 7 email address's, will I still have that? My husband has this one, I have a different one and my son has his own too. EDITOR'S NOTE: If they can logon to AOL via the web at webmail.aol.com, then the free version should work fine for all of you. |
