as i understand it m4v files are basically mp4 files with a different file extension. so to 'convert' an mv4 into an mp4 file you just have to change the name from 'example.m4v' to 'example.mp4' hope this helps EDITOR'S NOTE: I believe that will work *if* there is no copy protection in the file. |

Tunebite never caused me any problems and I use it for about 6 months, I use it to remove that DRM protection and to convert the audio and video files into the format I need. I find it a pretty cool tool |

yer when you say that it removes the protection when you burn it. Couldnt you just burn it to a disc and drag & drop the files to your desktop and then convert it with a m4v to MPEG/AVI converter? If that works then you have a free way :D EDITOR'S NOTE: Maybe... but what about the "burning is disabled for this track" problem? |

I don't have only m4v files to convert, I have flv, dv, wav etc formats. For that I should take a lot of free software (one for each format) and there are formats that the free softwares don't convert. I did that before I took this Tunebite and I really didn't like cause I had 3 converters on my PC. So, I said to myself that it would be better just one converter who can convert all the formats I need. |

I've tried converting a video that I bought from itunes through Tunebite but when I try to play it back it has recorded a screenshot showing the bottom half of my screen including Windows toolbar, about a fifth of my desktop (at the bottom), then the bottom of my itunes window, with the video playing in the bottom left hand corner. I'm sure I'm doing something really obvious wrong. Can anyone help? Thanks. EDITOR'S NOTE: As I understand it, Tunebite tries to guess where the video player appears on the screen. Maybe changing the video resolution will help. |

It is fine to convert m4v drm movies to any format,if you buy it,it is yours.apple has big balls to do what they are doing.I called them and told them, they said"they have no intent of removing the m4v file copy protection".I say $#%&*@#@@ apple and do not use itunes. If everyone stops using itunes then they might change.People who think it is criminal to convert a protected format are full of crap.Wh y should I be restricted to watching the movie on my computer instead of burning it to a disk??? All these hollywood knob slobbers need to go. |
