Ive looked at these programs in the past, and thank %#$@ my credit card wasnt in reach. Im very dubious of the net these days, but good on you for dedicating some time to genuinely helping people in my position! Especially your response to Darko, methinks he doesnt know what hes talking about.. In the wide world of the web, I have found a diamond in the rough - thy name is askbobrankin.com!!

tried all of the free streaming sites and here are the ones I like. Joost.com: is awesome use it all the time. Hulu.com: this is now my favorite it takes all of the recorded shows from the stations sites and plays them in full length. Search as station or show. Best of all its reliable. Veoh.com: it is just like hulu but a little better more program selections even has hd.

live-online-tv.com:this site has some cool stuff worth checking out. viewmy.tv: this is my favorite live stream video site has less channels compared to the others but they are reliable most of the time I was even able to get abc news the only thing I don't like is that stupid psp commercial they always play before opening a channel.

Itunes is also a grate place to buy and rent movies as well as net flix but Ituns service is free. Then besides these I am going to the site directly and watching movies on hd I am planing on getting rid of my dish I have so much to watch from just hulu alone I don't know what to do should it be Simpson or family guy hmmm I think I will watch the new episode of house

Bob. Thanks for the article. I did want to let you know that when I went to the Free TV Online link, I was asked to accept a user agreement, which I did. I was then asked to download software, which downloaded a TROJAN HORSE. I would remove their link if I were you.

EDITOR'S NOTE: Yikes, done! That site has apparently been bought out by Zango, which wants to install an adware application on your computer.

Thanks Bob, I almost buy that software but I ran across your article and changed my mine.
On a off topic note I am going to ditch my Dish and just pull my programing from the internet. I would like to connect my tv to the net without my pc. I was thinking on something like a D-link dms-520 and hooking that up to my tv. Any comment on this?

EDITOR'S NOTE: The DMS-520 supports Active-TV ONLINE, which This new feature in the DSM-520 enables access to TV programs, movies, video clips, and podcasts available on the Internet. It includes free, subscription, and fee-based online sources such as YouTube, Google Video, Yahoo!, ESPN, Fox Sports, MTV, etc. So you probably won't get all the channels you want, at least not for free. But if you're happy with the price and the selection, it's an interesting alternative to TV.

Bob, what About the FTA systems (free to air) made by sonic, coolsat, and alike? and what is with the web sites that offer updates for life? are they a gimmick? or are they selling
Key/unscrambling coding? I seen them advertised of your page when I did a search of anything you may have had to say about FTA.

EDITOR'S NOTE: In the comment right before yours, I wrote about FTA systems. Summary, you can get free (pirated) satellite signals, but beware of men in dark glasses.

THANK YOU!!! I almost bought it too. But I tripped over your website first. Whew! I'd like to get rid of satellite TV because I think it's too expensive for what I get(or what I am interested in watching). I think you've solved my dilemma. I'll be visiting your website regularly for techno/pc/internet advice.
