I guess I am one of a few who acutually enjoyed what I paid for. It seems that this site is a little bias. But like anything on the internet, it is buyer beware! I get to watch CNBC in my office, CNN, etc. Its only 40 bucks or so, and for someone who does not know much about computers, it was easy and simple.

EDITOR'S NOTE: That's fine, as long as you know that you can go directly to the CNBC or CNN website and watch without buying this software.

I had a good long look at all comments. looked at videos on youtube and yes this is one big scam!!! If you want a nice app for TV then i think you should give livestation a go. It is a free download app. And has most News TV station, (CNN) (BBC world news) ( ITN) (SKY news) ( SKY sports news) (BBC London) (AL Jazeera) (BBC Parliament) BBC Question Time UK) ITV Sport LIve)
(NBC News) any lots more. you can search by county and so on, plus if you live in the UK then it pick up BBC 1 2 3 and a few more. I am in switzerland, but i live in the UK most of the year so will let you know if the UK Stations work.

Thanks too. Again...that's forty dollars in my pocket too! You can also try to use a web page called: www.yidio.com; this web page is also a good web page to watch TV shows, movies, music, etc! Its like Hulu, and yes it is completely free and safe! It doesn't have any pop-ups, viruses, etc! I don't know if one can use his/her IP address over internationally, with this web site.... because I've never personally needed to do that!

Interesting article! I too purchased something similar, only mine was Internet TV. I had no idea all those broadcasts were already available for free.

The program was advertised as basically replacing cable because of all the channels I would get with their software. I believe the price was $25. When I installed the program and saw what a waste it was, I phoned the number in the instructions and asked where certain cable channels were. Without hesitation she said we will refund your money right now, and did.

I found out a week or so later that there is a Vista Gadget for watching pretty much the same channels. Only ones missing were the foreign channels I wouldn't have watched anyway. So like your article says, stay away, but if it's too late, demand that refund or contact your credit card company to dispute the charge as services not as advertised.

Bob, how can we get your article MORE publicity? You couldn't be righter than rain.

I tried to be an informed consumer and do research but eventually gave up. I thought it suspicious when every review I read was positive. When things sound too good to be true, they usually are. This is no exception.

I figured a lot of the channels were streaming online anway and that I would be paying for a consolidated user interface. The only thing I paid for was my own stupidity.

I tried this website, TVX8.cm they offer their software for only 9.97 one time payment but I'm very happy with all the free channels I'm getting. I don't think this is a scam. It will take me more than 6 months to find all those channels on the internet and put them togther. I rather pay 9$ and have them all ready for me
