i have a question i have a rca tv and there is a S plug in the back but all it says is S so i was wondering do i need a S-video to rca or do i need a S-video to rca3

EDITOR'S NOTE: No, you need to convert whatever video output your computer has to S-Video (if the computer doesn't have S-Video out).

Hi, I have a new 32" dynex LCD TV and it has a ton of input/outputs and I know it could be a monitor, but my computer doesn't seem to have any of the necessary outputs. It has no S-video or composite or VGA. It only has the thing that connects the monitor to the computer (it is like http://www.mrsalty.net/arcade/monitor/pins.jpg) and nothing in the back of my monitor can come out. So is there a cable I can use or do I need a new video card??

EDITOR'S NOTE: The picture shows a VGA port. If your TV has a VGA, then it's a direct connect. Otherwise, you should be able to get a VGA-to-whatever adapter cable to go from the PC to the TV.

Bob when I put my laptop on 1280x800 my television only shows a portion of the screen. How do I make it show the whole thing?

EDITOR'S NOTE: You don't say what kind of TV you have. A 720p set will support up to 1280x720.

Does the svideo make my tv a primary monitor or do i still have to use my computer monitor?

EDITOR'S NOTE: You CAN use your TV as a primary monitor, without a regular PC monitor. But it's really best for movies, games and such.

Hi bob...I want to hook my computer screen up to my tv...(I have a 27" sanyo HDTV) Ive got the VGA input on my computer, and the hdmi input on my tv...I bought a VGA adapter, and a hdmi to dmi cable to hook up to the vga adapter...i plugged everything in, but i still can't get the picture from my computer to show up on my tv...what am i doing wrong? Do i have to change a setting on my computer? (I have a dell inspiron 6000, and windows xp)

EDITOR'S NOTE: When you go to Control Panel / Display /Settings, do you see two monitors listed? ie: Do you see a 1 and a 2 inside boxes? If so, click on the "2" then select "Use this device as the primary monitor" and reboot.

Is there a cable that converts the 15 pin output on my lap top to three (video and 2 audio?) cables to my phillips tv?

EDITOR'S NOTE: I can't tell if your TV has RCA audio+video (red/white/yellow) or composite ports. But either way, you should be able to find a cable or adapter to make it work. Search for VGA to RCA or VGA to Composite.

EDITOR'S NOTE: Looks like you'll need a VGA to RCA adapter/cable.
