Hello!I've bought TuneCab last month to convert my music library to mp3 and I completely satisfied with conversion speed (to 50x) and quality of converted files. Also I've converted some protected iTunes videos to DivX and didn't have any troubles. Soft is easy to use with clear interface, I liked it.

I have a different DRM problem. I downloaded some files from the public library system in wma format. I'd rather listen to them on my iPod because of a feature that allows me to turn back a few "pages" instead of chapters of the book I'm listening to. BUt, the files have a DRM in them. So, will any of the programs listed convert from wma to aac?
I've tried a few free programs without success: DRMremoval and some others that don't do DRM removal.

EDITOR'S NOTE: There are several DRM removal programs listed in the article that will handle WMA files.

If you burn the songs onto an audio CD and then re-rip into MP3, is there any loss of sound quality?

EDITOR'S NOTE: Yes, MP3 is a "lossy" format. Using a higher bit rate will help, though.

I tried most of these programs, and only 2 will install on Vista x64, ShareDRMusic and TuneBite, and only TuneBite will actually launch and do something. ShareDRMusic tells me I need to reinstall it everytime I launch it. All the rest either tell me they need an x86(32-bit) OS or are not Vista compatible. TuneBite does seem to do what it says it will do. About the only option for us Vista 64-bit users.

Will using a program such as NoteBurner to remove DRM from an itunes file also strip the album cover information that ipods use for cover flow?

EDITOR'S NOTE: I suspect the coverflow info is part of the AAC file format. So I'd say yes, converting to MP3 would remove it. Can anyone confirm?

With so many DRM removal software options listed in your article - do you have any favorites to help me narrow my search?

EDITOR'S NOTE: I've listed them pretty much in my order of preference.
