How can you tell which one (32 or 64 bit) your system is using? Just bought a new computer and I can't tell. |

I made the shift to the 64 bit version of Windows 7 Pro when I bought my new computer. I found 64 bit drivers for everything, even my old Brothers printer. I also have a lot of old photo management software that I run in the XP partition with no problems at all. It really seems like it is not that hard once everything is set up. |

I'm running 64bit Ubuntu Linux on this computer. It seems to run faster with my Intel Core 2 Duo, and there aren't any applications that I can't use on it right now. At first I tried to install Google Gears and found out it was only available from google in 32-bit Linux but I soon found out that to install it I just had to install the gears package with the apt package manager by typing "apt-get install gears" in the terminal. I haven't come across any other packages that I can't use in 64-bit Ubuntu Linux since. |

Oh please, 64bit computing is just geek overkill nonsense. I just bought an EeePC which has an Intel CeleryOn. And you know what? The bottleneck is the Internet! Face it folks, unless you are over compensating for other things in your life, for 80% of the human race 32 bits is all you will ever need (yeah I know, this sounds like when Bill Gates said, "Who will ever need more than 640K?", but this is different). |

I have a compaq presario c700 laptop with windows vista home edition 32 bit. Now, I like to upgrade it to windows 7 64 bit. Is it possible to upgrade to windows 7 for my laptop? EDITOR'S NOTE: There is no simple upgrade path from a 32-bit to 64-bit Windows. It requires a "clean install" which means format and re-install everything. |

Sir, It seems most all PC`s are coming with 64bit. Is it possible to reinstall Windows 7 with the the 32bit version and still use the license code that came with the 64bit version? EDITOR'S NOTE: I don't think so. MS treats the 32-bit and 64-bit versions as two entirely separate products, from a licensing point of view. |

Hi. Would it make sense to get a 64-bit machine if your primary interest is digital image editing using programs like GIMP? Please note that I will be using a Windows machine. Thanks. |

I have Vista Home Premium 64bit, Installed Windows Mobile Device Center to connect my Samsung Omnia II, but it will not work. I spent 2 weeks with Verizon and Samsung to try and figure it out. Finally, someone @ Samsung told me they had not updated the device for Vista 64 bit, just Windows 7 64bit. Not sure if it is true as everyone I talk to @ Verizon & Samsung tell me it should work. |

1st time I saw windows 7 64bit, I was amaze because the details on the screen are very clear and my friend say's its easy to use so I tried it. Up to now its still my O.S. even though some drivers for other gadgets are not available and some application are not compatible. |
