A study from Purdue and Microsoft has found that ad-supported Android and Windows Mobile apps can use up to 75% of the total power consumption. The free Angry Birds, for example, only uses 18% for the game and 82% for the ads, draining power from batteries faster than the paid app.
Speaking of Angry Birds, the latest version launched last Thursday and their Twitter account reported that it was downloaded about 10 million times in less than three days. Angry Birds: Space has more than 60 levels and features zero-gravity planets and slow-motion action.

Dear Bob,
I am so very grateful for your articles;they have been an enormous help! I have a question, but don't know where to correctly post it: when I click on the icon on my Desktop for Internet Explorer, I now get the Homepage for Inbox.com. Why? What is it (there seems to be a link with Yahoo; my searching I believe is done via Google.
Grateful for any help
