Hiding Profile Items
On a Myspace profile, how do I hide the location and last login? I've seen other pages like this and it seems like a good idea for extra privacy on Myspace. |
Hiding Stuff in Your Myspace Profile
A lot of people write and ask how to hide the gender, their age, location or the display of the last login date on Myspace. I'll tell you first that you CAN hide certain elements on your Myspace page. But I also have to burst that bubble... because those things aren't truly hidden, at least not very well. Let's proceed with the instructions on how to hide those elements, then I'll tell you how easy it is to UNHIDE them, or view the not-so-hidden elements on other peoples' Myspace profiles.
To hide your gender, age, location, and last login on Myspace, do the following:
- Login to your Myspace account
- Click "Edit Profile"
- Copy and paste the following at the end of the headline section:
<font style="display:none;"> - Click "Save All Changes"

![]() Before Hiding |
See the image above for an example. This code will make all the text immediately following your witty headline invisible, but will not affect anything else on the page. One minor side-effect is that the closing quote on your headline will disappear. That's why I added the extra quote in the visual example above. Here are the before and after views: | ![]() After Hiding |
Not Really Hidden?
But as I mentioned above, this hack and others that rely on the addition of HTML or CSS style code to your Myspace profile are FAR from foolproof. It requires very little skill to reveal things that are hidden like this.
If you use Internet Explorer, right-click on the page, then click View Source. A notepad window will open, showing all the HTML and CSS code that makes up the page. Scroll down or search for "Last Login:" then scroll up just a bit. You'll see all the hidden profile elements, including gender, age, location and the date of the last login.
If you use the Firefox browser, it even easier. Just click on View, then Page Style, then "No style". Voila... all is revealed! Scroll down the page and you'll see everything that you (or your friend) thought was hidden from view. So this really adds very little in terms on enhancing your privacy or security.
I discourage this method of hiding things on a Myspace profile because it can backfire. If Myspace changes the structure of the page at some point, you could end up with a mess. Things you wanted to hide could be visible, and things that should be hidden may not be. If you are concerned about Myspace privacy, you can always enter bogus data for your age and location in the profile editor.

Hi. I've deleted everything in hope of finding some codes that will hide everything except heroes & about me. I put one code in just to try, which hides my last login and everything, but it displaces my whole profile, everything is centered, and it looks really weird. Why is this? Can you provide me with some codes to hide everything but heroes & about me?

SO I just added a new layout on myspace, and it hid the song player itself. Is there a way I can get my player back?
EDITOR'S NOTE: You'd have to poke into the HTML and/or CSS that defines the layout and determine why the player is hidden.

With the new Profile 2.0 that you are able to use on MySpace, you can now hide virtually anything you want to on your profile with just the click of a button.
Profile 2.0 allows you to hide any part you don't want to show.
It also will not show up when you go to "No Page Style" on Web Browsers such as Firefox.
No codes are involved at all that may make your page a mess; it's all done within the site and within using Profile 2.0.
