Bonzai is a sweet looking, even tempered youngster. Great adoption by Bonzai! I think ya'll qualify. Please keep us posted on how things go with Bonzai. |

I had been wondering where Tourbus had gone--without me! But, it's perfectly excusable if you've been busy with a new puppy. My vote on Bonzai's ancestry: definitely golden retriever (look at the ears, and consider his disposition), and German shepherd (coloring of his muzzle). |

I envy your having a new puppy. There is nothing sweeter than puppy-licks. Our dog is 4 already; where does the time go? Good luck with Bonzai and adopting from a shelter is definitely the way to go. You deserve a whole box of snickers! So, there!!! |

I think that your puppy may have Akita in him instead of Chow (Chows usually have purple tongues). We have one that someone dumped in our yard a couple of years ago as a puppy that is a shepherd mix that resembles your puppy. Ours has more of the black markings on him, but the face, ears, and general look is the same. I looked at Akitas on line and have come to the conclusion there is some of that in our dogs ancestry. If your dog's tale curls over his back I would say the chance is even better that he could have Akita in him. |

Absolutely adorable puppy. I think his disposition may be because he is part Retriever. He looks like he may be a lot of retriever! I am excited for you and hope you have many "warm fuzzy" moments together. Enjoy your Bonzai. And thank you for sharing him with us. So proud that you got him from a shelter. I have adopted 4 "fur babies" and they have been such a joy to my life. Please try to keep us informed on his life. |

Immediately saw the Golden Retriever in Bonzai. Hope you live in a cold climate, cause soon you won't need slippers anymore. My Woody, an 80# Golden, thought on my feet the best place to rest. Enjoy! |

After decades of breeding and judging dog shows I would say he is definitely part German Shepherd and part Golden Retriever. The muzzle coloring is German Shepherd and the head and coat are Golden Retriever. If I had been there I would have taken him myself. A pup that is anxious to please is very easy to train. Start now and only do simple things like down or sit. Give him lots of praise for success and silence for failure. Do not be too negative with him at this age. I would love to see you follow up on him in future issues. He out of site cute. |

He's lovely - but you're going to have your hands full by the sounds of it. Keep us posted. Glad to see the bus back again. :-) |

Yep, 100 pounds. Easy. Highly recommend Cesar Millan's approach. Makes all the difference in the world. Will make Bonsai and your family very happy. ("Just looking" at puppies??) Congrats. Beautiful pup. |
