Hands down it's Last.fm on the laptop (service charge on mobiles). Customizable self station or choose by artist, genre. They do a good job of finding similar music to your choices. Pandora is the goto on mobile. |

I use some of the stations mentioned in your article but my favorite is TuneIn. I use their app on my Samsung Galaxy S III phone and they also have a website, tunein.com. |

I live in London and went on the iHeartRadio website but when i clicked play on a NYC radio station, i got a message window saying it's only available in the US. Thanks a lot iHeartRadio! |

I listen to iHeartRadio, as there is one specific radio station I like, and this allows me to listen to it anywhere when I am at a computer, or have my Android phone. |

Itunes works in PCs and cell phones, in any country, with access to radio stations around the globe. |

What about Grooveshark? It lets you pick who or what you want to listen to and by the way, combined with Freecorder, is a great way to sample performers whose work you might want to purchase |

Because I love to listen to old time radio programs, I log into www.archive.org. Hundreds of programs are available free. |
