I am trying to do the convertion so I can load my itunes on to a compact flash card then into my Music Box on a new 2012 Nissan Pathfinder What a Pain~!! I have loaded NoteBurner but when I try to burn the playlist I get this error "Some of the files can not be burned to an MP3 CD ..... do you still wan to burn the remainder of the file?" in reality it is the entire file... any ideas?

Thank you! I was getting frustrated that nothing I bought would work with anything else. 2 things- I don't have a right click option on my Mac Book so but the "convert to mp3: option is under "Advanced) in the menu. Also, I did find that after creating the file, I added (mp3) to the title to help me differentiate the files when loading them on the mp3 player.

FormatFactory from www.pcfreetime.com converts everything to anything, audio, video, dvd rips, etc, etc. Free product I've been using for years. Check the reviews on http://download.cnet.com/FormatFactory/3000-2194_4-10968547.html

This was a great article! unfortunately, it does not appear to work with iTunes Store Purchased music. Here is the error message I get: The file is an iTunes Store File and can not be burned to an MP3 CD. iTunes Store Files can not be burned to an MP3 CD.

This means I am back to buyin g CD's and no longer buying squat from Apple. I am so sick and tired of this gestapo-like activity.....

Thank you so much! I’m late to this portable music game (memorizing songs always worked for me). But without your help this MP3 player would have been useless! Great job mate!!!

I bought a SanDisk Sansa Clip and was despondent to discover that it could not "translate" iTunes. But, I stumbled onto iTunes Sync freeware http://www.binaryfortress.com/iTunes-Sync/
and have been a happy camper ever since. (I had already loaded each and every CD I owned into iTunes so I was hoping to avoid repeating the effort).

So far I have not suffered any ill effects nor snagged any malware or viruses as a result! Yeay!

This was extremely helpful and I thank you for posting it. My husband has a new car and he is able to use a USB but all my music was on iTunes in AAC format and therefore not readable on the USB. I did just what you said and it worked perfect.

Can you recommend a DRM removal software for Mac Apple? Tunebite seems to only run on Windows. Thanks

I have also used Audials Moviebox, I think it's also from the guys with Tunebite, actually maybe they changed the name?
U can find a small how to do so also on their page:http://audials.com/en/how_to_record_stream_capture_music_videos_movies_from/apple_itunes.html
I don't know any solution for Mac though....

I'm gonna have to try this out later, my 8gb ipod died the other day and I don't want to spend $200 on anything apple anymore. Saw some other 8gb mp3 player at target for $64!!! I just need to see if my computer has enough memory to convert my files before I buy a new player. And in the future, I think I'll try out Amazon.com music, I'm assuming they don't have their own file format
