There used to be a monastery which sold remanufactured cartridges under the name of Laser Monks. The profits went to charity. They were bought out by a company named Bonvivant in California. It is a for profit company. No religious or charitable connection. They, however, continue to use the name Laser Monks, not Bonvivant. I'm sure there are people buying from them who think that they are helping to support charity and are unaware of the reality. Nothing wrong with being a for profit company, but let's not be deceitful about it. Yes I quit buying from them.

I've used LD Products for more than 10 years on 2 Epson Printers and 1 Brother with 99% success. I had trouble twice and called them and I had free replacements in 2 days. They sell all kinds of paper, disk labels etc. glossy, matte for excellent price.

I have always refilled my ink cartridges (Canon IP6200) and other than having to go through the printer cleaning process a few time after each refill I have never had any problems.

I have only had to purchase one set on new canon cartridges in over 10 years and that was because the software said something to the effect that it had been refilled to many times.

I wear special old cloths when doing the refilling together with rubber gloves.

I've used LD ink cartridges in both Epson and Canon printers for 10 years and only had one defective cartridge. LD sent me two replacement cartridges for the one defective cartridge and paid all shipping cost. Their ink quality is excellent.

Hi Bob, Love your news letters and have taken advantage of many tips, thank you so much. I have an Epson and a Lexmark all in one inkjet printers. I live in Canada and use 123 Inkcartridges and Pilo Shop. They both have quality products and reasonable and affordable pricing and v. good warranty. Epson works fine with remanufactured inks but Lexmark acts up. Once I had to replace the entire printhead under warranty, luckily I was not asked about the inks, OEM or other!!
Did you know that the most expensive fluid in the world is liquid ink!!?? 10 ml for $40.00 or so, which means it cost about $400.00 per gallon!!

I have been purchasing refilled cartridges for HP (ink-jet & laser), Cannon & Epson from Cartridge World for 8 years. Saved a bundle. Print quality same as OEM. They fully guarantee them and several times have help me with printer problems.

I know one example doesn't prove anything, but my Canon ip6800 suddenly stopped recognizing the Genuine Canon Magenta cartridge which was still about half full. I cleaned the contacts and reinserted it over and over. Sometimes that would work for one time, and then the same thing next time. I put in a compatible from LD Products and it hasn't missed a lick since.

I have used the Office Depot Brand of HP 75XL...and have some trouble with the Printer not recognizing the cartridge...or cartridge not installed correctly...etc.

I just read a posting some where else on the net which said to (1)Turn Off Computer...(2) Unplug cables from Printer...(3) Wait 5 minutes and then reverse the procedure. I did so, but waited longer as I had to leave the house. When I returned I connected the Printer, etc....and it started printing as it should.

Just passing the info on.

I have used Carrot Ink for at least 8 years and am a happy camper! They have great prices for my old HP deskjet 940C and a newer Canon Pixma 500. They ship quickly and have great customer service with live people if you have a question. I have not checked other seller because I do not think I would change even if prices were less because of the quality and hassle-free service offered by them.

I have used many refills from LD and Carrot and Ink Superstore. Some worked well but in the end I was extremely disappointed in all of them. Most all of them are missing the chip needed to be able to recognize them and my new HP 6500 won't even let me use them. OEM only for now. Anyhow, I had to toss two printers that got so bad I couldn't use them and I will not use remans any more in my new printers. I have had to toss out more unused ink in remans because they stop working that it made it just as costly so may as well go OEM. One time two of the ink carts crossed: my blue and yellow gave me a nice green cartridge color. Now that didn't work. LD was great at replacing defectives but I got tired of that in a hurry. Don't know what else to say.

Been using compatible cartridges in my Brother All-In-Ones for many years... on several machines, the black stops printing... seems like the print head gets clogged and will not clean... its a shame to have to through the printers in the trash... just bought a new Brother All-In-One so I plan on using Brother cartridges, at least for a few times, before going to compatibles.

Many years ago (late 1990s) I tried using remanufactured cartridges in my HP printer. They always clogged, spattered, and generally didn't work well. I had a friend who was a field service technician for HP. She told me that HP printers were "fussy" and didn't always work well with non-OEM.
As I said, that was many years ago, and I have since switched to Canon printers (primarily because of ink cost being cheaper), so I can not attest to whether or not this is still true of HP printers. But, at one time, it was an issue.

I have tried refill/remanufactured ink for my HP photosmart 8750 and 42" HP800gs... Both were a very disappointing experience. Then I happened upon expired ink cartridges. 4-5 cartridges that would typically run $125-150 were $30, $35??? total. They have worked perfectly ever since and I trust I save well over $2000 year Colors are perfect, no hunting for new ICC;s. Try expired ink. Wrapped in a sealed bag it is protected from air & light HP wants to sell you more and more ink.

Always enjoy your publications. Several years ago I was shopping at an office supply for ONE Lexmark black cartridge, the $40 one. The clerk showed me an Epson T22 on sale for $31... not a hard decision to make and then Singapore sold me for $22, a set of 4 refillable cartridges and they have worked fine since then. I have been re-inking and refilling since the 80's with my MacInker for ribbons and onward. Then I discovered the economy of Laser in a Canon 3-in-1 D420 on sale for $59 shipped. Altho the Canon factory cartridge is $69, the OEM ones are $11.32 and they make 4,000 perfect b/w pages! Now I only use the Epson T22 when I need a color copy... once a month or so. Once you go Laser, you never go back! Someday I will find a good color Laser on sale and then....

Mikey says in August, 2013 that a gallon of ink costs $400, but he is incorrect. There is 3785.41 ml in 1 gallon and if 10 ml cartridge costs $40, then 1 gallon is $ 15,141.64 !!!. (3785.41 ml divided by 10ml times $40)
