I have a cannon Pixma 3610 with tanks instead of cartridges. This is the way to go, 4 Tanks cost NZ105 and a set of cartridges would cost $140 yet the tanks print 3000 colour pages, 10x better than cartridges. |

The black and white printing on acid-free paper, which is what I buy for printing and is pretty standard, is ideal for making copies of anything you want to last. I have letters written by my grandfather in 1887-1897, and I will be scanning and making copies of his originals using black toner on acid-free white paper as one example. The originals of those letters are now spread flat and kept in acid-free, top loading sheet protectors (what an awkward name, eh?). I printed copies of past US Census pages showing where my ancestors lived, and who lived together. Color printing with those liquids is not something that will last, I believe. |
