I have a paid version of MBAM; however, it was interfering with other programs, so I wanted to uninstall. Despite going to MBAM's website for special software to uninstall, it did not do so. I emailed the company; no response. I am disappointed. |

As always, Bob, thanks for the valuable information. I have used MB for a long time and have come to rely upon it for a "second opinion". Like you, I have had disagreements with other anti-virus providers about running multiple av systems. I have never had a problem doing so, if the "other" was MB. I will be anxious to see future tests of MB V3. I expect it to be useful and reliable. |

Ive always run MBAM with another free Security Suite. I used to use AVG but changed to Avast basically because of your recommendation to do so! :) |

As I run PC Matic the risk may be too great. They may have shaken hands and gone to their corners but the bell may ring and they'll come out fighting again. Pity, would have liked a second tier of protection |

Hi Bob, I've been a subscriber to MBAM for sometime, until this new release. Nothing but Blue Screen errors, and tech support was dreadful. Bob K. |

I've had MBAM on my PC for years. When I got the notice for the free update trial...I DL'd MBAM V3. My PC crashed (and would continue to freeze/crash each time I restarted it). I finally had to RESTORE to before I DL'd the MBAM V3...(and everything is now working as before). (I later ran across a "discussion group" [on the MBAM site] that indicated that my experience with MBAM V3 was NOT unique.) |

I deleted Malwarebytes and now i have the following left i my registry that I can't delete even if I act as ADMIN. How do i clear this out of the registry ? ActiveX/COM Issue LocalServer32\"C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe" HKCR\CLSID\{03141A2A-5C3A-458E-ABEC-0812AD7FF497} ... (stuff deleted) I still use CCLEANER FREE V 5.29.6033 64 BIT and ADVANCED SYSTEM CARE 10 , as far as my uneducated opinion is concerned, Malwarebytes is in the same category as McAfee, a paid for virus that will take over your computer and eventually bring it to a crawl. EDITOR'S NOTE: If you are concerned about those registry entries, try a System Restore, to return to the state you computer was in before installing MBAM. |

I have been using MB for a very long time and never had a problem with it. I have uninstalled and reinstalled without any issues. But if anyone needs to uninstall, download JetClean. It does a thorough clean up job for uninstalling and cleaning up left overs. Try it and you'll see! Good luck! |

As a programmer, I have had ongoing arguments with different AV suppliers. Currently AVAST insists on a 15 second delay every time I make a change to my project and recompile. Turning off file checking works of course, but it feels like walking out of the office without your pants on. What do other programmers do? |

There is an uninstaller for MBYTES in its own program directory. I found that unless the uninstaller in its own program directory is used, it comes right back at the next reboot. Very stubborn and highly inefficient program. |

I find that v3.xx does not play perfectly well with other tools, particularly MS Windows Defender even when only periodic scans enabled. With Kaspersky Internet Security on my 64 bit system MBAM v3.x can't seem to keep the web protection running. I also get firewall messages on startup. On a 32 bit system MBAM & KIS seem to work OK without firewall messages. Go figure. |

My experience: I've used MBAM paid version since 2.something. I use it in conjunction with BitDefender; I previously used MBAM in conjunction with Avast, but the pop-up ads were more than I cared to deal with. When MBAM 3 became available, I downloaded and installed it. On rare occasions, with both MBAM 2 and MBAM 3, the real-time protection (paid version only) would turn off and not turn on. In each case, uninstalling the program from the Windows Programs & Features application (in Control panel) then reinstalling the program fixed the recalcitrant real time protection feature. I like the program. |

I have mbam 3 but it is a little unstable. Every time I turn my pc on I am told that the live system is not on. I then click on the turn on button and it is fine until I switch off and then on again. |

I'm happy with PC Matic. I had both on my system and after reading about how Malware Bytes likes to try and take over a pc ststem little by little without permission a few months back, I quickly uninstalled it and will keep the PC Matic. |

I paid for two years of MBAM and V3 came along and messed with me. I use avast BTW and have for a few years. MBAM support and I exchanged emails for a few weeks and I finally gave up. They have my money but I do not have MBAM. However, on a laptop I have avast and the free MBAM and there seems to be no problem. |

I've been giving MBAM another try, over the last month or so. Like your experience, Bob, it immediately flagged (nearly?) every file belonging to Advanced SystemCare. I sent MBAM an email to let them know that it was giving a False Positive for this well-know, and respected, software. They wrote me back saying that it was NOT a False Positive; not that they consider it a Risk, but that: "Our Research Team has been monitoring this application for some time and has decided to add detection based on triggers against our PUP detection criteria. The detection is correct and not a false positive. We will continue monitoring this application and if we notice a change in the behavior we will review it again". They did recommend setting MBAM to ignore the software, if I wanted to continue using ASC; which I did. The process wasn't nearly as simple as they instructed, but I did get it to stop, finally. Based on some of the bad experiences, noted above, with MBAM v3, I think that I'll wait, and not install it at this time. Thanks, Bob, for another great article! |
