I don`t think there aren`t necessarily dumb, take my case for example I got IE8, Firefox v.5, Chrome and Opera on my machine. That would take my IQ level way over the top. But I can honestly say it isn`t so.

These results are to be expected. A high proportion of professional/technical computer users/developers will switch from IE partly because it is "fashionable" to look down on Microsoft. Generally these people could be expected to have a higher IQ than average.

Really? And just how ridiculous is this foolish diatribe? When you look around to see just what's wrong with this world, this is one good survey to site as an example of a total waste of time and money. People are actually paid real money to come up with this stuff? It all makes me wonder about THEIR IQ.

Most such "studies" are nearly always subjective and other similar studies would come up with results Firefox usuers or any of the others had lower IQs.

I have tried Firefox and chrome but found IE gave me the best service with less hassels than the ohters. I have had very few virus infections all the years I've used IE. A "study" I did found that this is becuase of the fine advice and tips I get from Bob Rankin.

From a marketing view I find the article and the study a very good ploy to get IE users to switch to something else.

Presumably my intelligence will decrease when I stop using Safari on my iPhone and switch on my laptop with Internet Explorer.
I tried Mozilla for a while but got tired of it when upgrades stopped plugins from working. I see no reason to change again.

While I prefer Firefox and Google Chrome (in that order) to IE, this study to me is ridiculous.

What is best for one person, isn't for another.

Leave those who prefer to use IE alone.

Perhaps those of us who are ex-users of browsers like Opera and have rejoined the throng using Firefox & Chrome are simply in the genius class? I think not however as I am not bright enough to figure out why, in this article, Bob says you are more likely to cop a virus using IE when just a few newsletters back he devoted the main topic to telling us how IE tested out as the safest browser. I know, I know, I must be wrong, or am I?

I disagree. IE9 seems to work well for me. From reports I have read, it also seems to the most resistant to "Malware/Etc. attacks" Yes there are changes from previous versions of IE, but maybe that is what keeps the IQ in top shape - Learning the new stuff. I also use Firefox, should IE take a crash, or freeze.

Ah .. what was the question ? Oh yeah ! Are we dumb? Dumb like a fox and maybe just lazy. Let's see, I'm using a system that works just fine for what I do, nobody can see it ( eliminates the status egotism of car drivers ) and I spend more time doing what I want instead of fumbling around for an extended period of time reorganizing what I have already done. If they want our business, (IE users) than programers and developers will accomadate us. Until it no longer works, why should I change ?

The conclusion by Aptiquant that it is a clear indication that individuals on the lower side of the IQ scale tend to resist a change/upgrade of their browsers.
This could be for various reasons, which, however, would all come back to a a common denominator that has to do with the IQ level of the individual.
Education alone is not a big factor. People without a higher education, but gifted with intelligence and natural inquisitiveness will want to look further than what they have got.
