Directory Information Overload?

Category: Cool-Stuff

Sure, there are lots of online yellow pages websites. But all too often, I find it frustrating to get the phone number or address for a business or public facility. Point, click, search, wade through multiple pages of search results, drill down into confusing category headings, and MAYBE you can find that phone number. Here's good news... it just got easier to do what should be a simple task.

Yup, We Got That...

If you need to find information about a Hospital, Funeral Home, Nursing Home, or Public School in the US or Canada, try this family of websites:

As the names suggest, you can access a comprehensive directory that includes the address, phone number, local information, and area maps for any of these facilities. Although there are tens of thousands of entries in each category, you can find any facility in just TWO CLICKS by navigating to a state/province, and then the city.

But suppose you don't remember the city or state, or even the full name of the facility. Not a problem... just look for the search box at the top of any page, enter all or part of the facility name, and optionally the city and/or state.

For example, you're looking for a hospital and all you know is that it has the word "Thunderbird" somewhere in the name. Searching at All Hospitals with that keyword brings up the link we want: THUNDERBIRD SAMARITAN HOSPITAL - GLENDALE AZ. You can also enter the city and state to retrieve a quick list of all facilities that match.

Want a list of all Public Schools in Moose Lake, Minnesota? Pop in to All Public Schools then search or navigate to that city. You'll find not just the address & phone number, but also a SCHOOL PROFILE that contains these stats for each school:

  • District Name
  • County
  • Grades Covered
  • Number of Students
  • Number of Full-time Teachers
  • Student/Teacher Ratio

Try out these handy specialized directories and see what you think, then bookmark them for future reference.
