Have been using Firefox for years and keep up with the latest versions. I have been pretty happy with the new version, but have had more of the "Firefox not responding" messages than ever before. Am I the only one noticing this? |

I've already switched to Chrome. I got tired of all the constant changes. |

I've been using Firefox for several years and recently updated to v.29. The one thing I really miss is the "already bookmarked this site" indicator. |

I switched to Chrome a while back. I still find Chrome a bit faster and has a smaller footprint, even with add ins turned off. While Firefox maybe getting better, Google hasn't left Chrome lacking. One thing that I sort of like about Chrome is, bookmarks follow me around. Although I mainly use a Windows machine at a work, at home I mainly use a Mac, or iPhone or iPad. I say mainly because I sometimes use those at work as well. There is no Firefox for iOS, if I recall correctly, there used to be one. Chrome works everywhere, even on some Linux distros. Sometimes at home I also use Windows 8.1 and I have made Chrome my primary browser. |

I have used FF for years and about 2 years ago switched to Palemoon 64 bit...mainly for the 64 bit build. It is a FF mod. browser and the author has maintained the same interface as before FF 29. |

It is not important to me for Firefox to look like every other second rate browser available. I liked the old Firefox and am now getting along using the Classic Theme Restorer, but I was really ticked with what was done to a superior browser when they overhauled it and named the Chrome-look-alike Firefox 29. |

"2) This add-on was made for browsers default theme and will certainly break parts of the UI especially tabs, if used along with Firefox themes or Personas, but additional buttons and their options could work fine (untested!)." I use a special theme which v.29 hides. This is only on my 32-bit machine, as I use Waterfox 28 on my 64-bit machines. Apparently, Mozilla is trying to eliminate outside theme competition! Next they will go for the add-ons in a MS-type control take-over of a once free and open application. If I wanted a Chrome look-alike, I would have installed Chrome. If Mozilla does not do a quick about face in this matter, I just may install Chrome and delete Firefox. |

I, too, was irritated when 1. Firefox updated itself even though I was sure I had opted to install updates myself and 2. I saw that everything had rearranged itself and the options to restore my arrangements weren't readily accessible. I was most annoyed that my tabs bar had moved and the option to restore it to the location I prefer no longer existed! I don't usually mind technological change as long as it significantly improves the user experience but I don't see how the cosmetic changes did anything except annoy and frustrate loyal users. I don't care for Chrome and I hate IE; I PREFER Firefox because I could make it look and work the way I wanted it to because of the large number of add-ons and because it was familiar and easy to use. I even put up with the way it hogs memory! But it's not worth it if the things that I liked about it and that set it apart from its competitors have been changed so that it mimics its competitors. Maybe some of us FF users are being cranky and/or whiny but I'm no old fogey who doesn't like change. I'm a young woman who is very comfortable with tech who just likes what she likes and I DON'T like FF29! |

Thanks for the info for restoring 28 appearance. I had tried ver 29 a month ago and was totally discouraged and yet in at least somewhat of a panic mode because of the security issues addressed.. |

I have always liked Firefox. Lately I wonder what I am running. I would love to get away from yahoo, Google and maybe Firefox. Just do not know where to go. |

I use both Chrome and Firefox. I find Firefox a bit more stable than Chrome, oddly enough. And I quite like the new FF29 -- it was a notable improvement. I see no reason to encourage people to use BOTH browsers.....and to dump IE entirely. |

I'm very annoyed that I can no longer have forecast fox in version 29... and i cant seem to go back to prior version. i'd look for another browser if i hadnt broken my arm making searching and typing tough with one non-dominant hand. grrr |

I like the new fire fox 29 version I find it a bit faster and easier to use I found it easy to adjust to and to use. Its reassuring to know they have enhanced the security issues as well |

I have been using FireFox for years. I am very distrustful of anything related to Google. I think they are far to concerned with monetizing me and my use of any of their services. I am not a fan of the new interface. I've always been a subscriber to the "If it ain't broke, don't fix it theory." Much of what was done with the 'new' FireFox what not fixing something that was broken, but merely an attempt to emulate the competition. This may benefit FireFox with those who think no further than the surface of anything presented to them, but is of no real value to the users of their browser. Thanks for your attention. |

Firefox appears to have this ongoing compatibility problem with Adobe Flash that other browsers don't seem to have. Not sure if the new version has this corrected. |

I also have been very annoyed by the FF29 changes. My complaint is that I have LESS flexibility in displaying it in a way that helps my productivity. For example, before we had the option of having the tab bar high or low. I had it low because it was closer to the page displayed which is what each tab represents. Now it can only be high. I used to choose the "small icons with text" for the links to the additional tools and features. That allowed me to understand each link with a glance. Now the only choice is small icons. You have to hold the pointer over each small icon to display its function. These reductions in flexibility negatively impact productivity. |

I have been a Firefox (FF) user from the days when dinosaurs (and Al Gore) still roamed the internet plains. In the days of old, I would install those Firefox "Nightly versions" and "Optimized Builds"(by Moox, scragz, etc.) just to get that last bit of speed and save on RAM usage. |

I always thought going to Firefox would limit my exposure to the "advertising" of Google on everything I touched. Plus, I thought Firefox was a little more discreet than "sell every word Chrome" mentality. I have been using "PUFFIN FRee" on my Samsung and like it. |

I'm a loyal Firefox user since the days it was the Netscape project, I have been faithfully using their email client applications since 1997 as well, first on WIndows, and for the last 7 years on Linux Ubuntu and Mint. My main concern is functionality first and foremost. As long as the browser works fairly well for me, I'm fine with all the cosmetic changes. I often use Chrome or Opera when something won't display properly in FF, but I always return to FF as my primary choice. At work I am often forced to use MSIE because of compatibility issues with local content and company add-ons, but that is slowly changing too, as IT people realize that a majority of people don't want MSIE at all. My complaint about the most recent FF versions is that it's harder for me to find the bookmark editing window which I like to use to clean up and arrange bookmarks. As a rule, I have always hated when application developers hide things from the user in new versions - trying to bury buttons and menues deeper in the corners or unknown places of the GUI. Why? just for the sake of esthetics? |

I've checked out several browsers (Chrome, Opera, and Safari) before changing. The one thing I miss from Firefox is the ability to open documents instead of having to download them to my hard-drive first. I have documents on my web-site that I already have saved in a folder on my hard-drive, but would like to read them straight from my browser. The only browser I didn't check out was IE (which I dislike on general principles.) |
