I use Social Fixer (which is free; you can donate if you like) to eliminate all ads on Facebook. It has worked well for me for a long time now. Is there any reason not to use it? |

Morning Bob: I find it interesting that Google thinks it knows me by the web sites I visit. I am a writer and do a heck of a lot of research. I also answer anywhere from 25 to 30 questions a day by request in Quora so there is research for that. |

Thanks for the article Bob. I've controlled FB ads by not using it. I don't like their arbitrary censorship. I log in about once a month and "like" a bunch of my friends' pictures and rants. I hope a viable alternative will be available to FB. Whoever does it will be a billionaire in no time. How about you Bob? |

Why not just dump facebook ? Who needs it? |

As Facebook is free to its users, they have to make money by allowing ads whenever you log in to the service.I wouldn't mind a ad or two once in a while, but it looks like they just show ads to no end. After reading about Facebook's privacy issues and other things,I decided I will not use their service ever.I am retired and have no need to impress anybody. |

Ha, Ha. Talk about the Pot calling the Kettle black. |

Facebook's algorithms may work for the vast majority of their users but it doesn't seem to work for me. Very few if any of the ads they show apply to me. |

Until I clicked on this article, I didn’t know FB had ads on it. I admit I don’t go onto FB much, maybe once every four to six weeks. In the past, I got so tired with ads, on the internet, that I installed “Ad Block Plus”. This little free “add-on” has stopped almost all of the ads. (That includes 32 on your site). In all of the years that I have this “add-on” it has stopped 155,404 ads! |

I have a facebook account. I also have an email account with yahoo. There are so many emails that I can barely get through them daily and delete many regularly. This leaves no time for facebook or other such social entities. My facebook account is used to log in to other websites that require it. I personally do not visit it. It is pretty much a dormant account. |

I left Facebook years ago. And after having closed my account for 10 years, for about 6 months, I began to continually receive emails telling me people missed me, had messages for me and wanted me to rejoin Facebook. So, them plastering ads all over the place is no surprise. Facebook apparently believes they are all powerful, and rules do not apply to them. But then, I am probably wrong and all they want is my well being....and I have some swamp land for sale at a really good price. Let me know if you are interested. |

Like others, I dumped face book years ago. They reactivated and I dumped it again. |

If you use Firefox there is a 'sandbox' that activates when you open 'Facebook'. It is supposed to block it from accessing your info from other sites. It seems to work to some degree as I don't see as many ads as I used to. Comments? |

Seems like a lot of trouble to go to for little return. I just don't see the ads, literally. My eyes flow past them unless I'm particularly bored, at which point I realize it is time to log of. |

Ever since I started using Ad Blocker, no annoying pop-up ads. |

If you subscribe to Face Book, ads are the least of your worries!!! |

Easy way to get out of the Facebook advertising loop. Get yourself a good ad blocker. I've used AdBlock Pro for years and I never have to put up with Facebook ads. |

I also use Social Fixer. Since the latest FB version it doesn't work as well, but the developer is working on it. It usually not only blocks ads but allows you to customize your news feed to show what you want and hide what you don't, e.g. political posts. Highly recommended. |

I recently had some blood tests done, one of which was the PSA. Suddenly on FB I have been inundated with prostrate ads. Coincidence? |
