I gave up on FF two months ago and will not go back until I am absolutely forced to try it again. I've been online since 1994 and due to the vagaries of sites, Flash, and browser and system updates -- and god only knows, maybe even the phases of the moon -- have been forced to use FF, Chrome, Opera, IE, Edge and even Safari at one time or another because every single one has been a pain in the @** at one time or another too.

For most of the last decade I have had a minimum of 4 browsers on call. For the moment, working on a new Asus desktop, I am using Chrome 90% of the time and Edge 10%.

Thanks to those who've mentioned Pale Moon; I hadn't heard of it before, but will check it out. Ya never know when your browser will go south ...

Long Time Firefox and Thunderbird user. Swore off MS products years ago when Gates was leveraging all . I really like Firefox. Ver. 54 has some Web App extension issues ( Static tool bar at top ) that is frustrating and hopefully will work this out but have really been happy and a very stable platform. Chrome I have never cared for. Too much monkey motion to accomplish even the simplest of tasks. I will stick with Firefox until totally submerged and than a little longer.

1) chrome no longer gives updates for xp. does firefox?
2) yahoo mail gives a lot more space then gmail which starts charging if you pass their current limit. THis should make gmail much less poppular.

I love FF and have been using it since it first appeared and used Netscape before that. Chrome is not user friendly. No menu bar, no bookmark bar. In FF I have all the items I need and use each day. Perhaps there are some add on's in Chrome that would provide a menu bar, bookmark bar, etc. If so someone please tell me because if FF goes away I will have to use Chrome as I will not use IE or Edge.

I was a solid Firefox user from the Netscape days but started to look around for better experience when they let Brendon Eich go a few years ago because they disagreed with his political views in the past. I thought that was unfair and voted with my feet. We took Firefox off all our machines and looked for alternatives. I'm not a fan of Google and I think they know way too much about us but the browser is fast and doesn't crash often. I haven't looked back. Brave is a nice secure Chrome fork by Brendan that emphasizes security. I might migrate more business there.

For the Chrome user (s) tired of nag bars create a shortcut similar to the following. Use actual path to Chrome on your computer. Otherwise I use Opera as my main and Firefox as my second for certain extensions. But I got to admit it is a real resource hog on my system.

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" --disable-infobars

Chrome uses an insane amount of memory. People have no idea how much performance they may be losing when they have multiple tabs open. But yes, chrome is my default browser -- except when I get low on RAM.

Firefox is my #1 and will continue to be so. I find it by far the easiest to use. I also use Chrome as my #2(since I have a Chromebook for backup AND it opens two particular sites more easily), Opera as my #3, and Cyberfox and Tor in reserve. Edge and IE I avoid as much as possible, especially since my main computer crashed many years ago and IE died, taking everything with it.

A student said to me one day 'You must try Firefox.' I siad 'no ' but she persisted. Am I glad she did.

Someone said. 'Chrome'I tried it. Firefox rules for all the reasons given by those who have commented before me. Chrome is slow, chrome is missing important options that make Firefox so good.

Please firefox do not disappear into cyber space we need you on planet Earth.

I've tried "about.config" probably 50 times and it will never open. I've used safemode, disabled all add-ons, enabled an about.config add-on, and just about every 'help' tip I can find--nothing.

I have used Firefox, IE, Safari, Edge, and Chrome for browsers. But, I mainly stick with Safari, Chrome and Edge now. I liked Firefox, but when I started having problems with web pages loading, I stopped using Firefox.

@bob rice you should type "about:config" without the quotes, note the colon instead of the period.

Chrome has some advantages over FF. You have to put up with their spying cookies but SUPERAntiSpyware can handle that. I'm using a reasonably fast laptop with 8 GB or DDR3 RAM. Right now I've got five windows open in Chrome, no problem. I like FF and since I'm quite familiar with its add-ons I sometimes use it. I will continue to use it for four reasons. I don't like Edge. I'm not going to use IEx. I'm too lazy to learn Opera when I already have two fine browsers and finally, I want to keep Mozilla's fine browser around. I'd like to see everybody use FF for that reason.

Will stick with Firefox. Most of the advantages of Chrome seem to come from its being bundled with Windows, which I wouldn't touch with a 10-foot Kowalski. I wonder if Chrome would be so hot on its own. Any why do you seem to have so little to say about Linux systems?

I have been a consistent user of FireFox for many years, but that may be changing. An increasing incidence of “unresponsive script” error messages that leave webpages half-filled and news that toolbars will be unusable in future versions, is causing my loyalty to fail.

Like Daniel Wiener and Mike H, I ditched FF after Mozilla's hounding of Brendan Eich, a shameful example of McCarthyist intolerance hypocritically posing as liberalism. Companies (as distinct from people) have no business (literally) pushing agendas unrelated to their product. Ditto, Delta and others on the "activist" gravy-train - just give me a good product at a better price and allow ME to decide to which causes I wish to support with the money saved, instead of leveraging your excessive prices to force me into supporting YOUR pet ideas. Or, guess what, I will whenever possible take my business elsewhere.

Long time Firefox user here - on Windows. Opera on Android. Can't understand why people use Chrome. Firefox is the superior product in my opinion. As for IE and Edge; they are just horrible. At work (Education UK) Chrome does not play nicely with much of our other software. Firefox does.

I like that Firefox refuses to use Flash. The Windows Updates for Flash for my computer (which are frequent) don't update the non-Windows browsers. On Chrome, I have to use "about://components" as my home page to ensure I don't forget to update Flash. In Firefox, I can't use Flash, which is fine with me, so no worries about Flash updates. Flash is so prone to vulnerabilities, this one difference alone made me switch to Firefox as my primary browser.

I've had Firefox since Netscape. I also have Brave on this computer, but I use Pale Moon as my main browser.

I used Netscape from its beginning and then Firefox and Firebird (now Thunderbird) from their beginnings. For me, Firefox is the perfect browser. I can customize it to perform exactly how I want, it's fast, it never crashes, and it seems to work with me instead of against me (Microsoft, I'm talkin' to you). Chrome is okay, but it can't compare to how perfectly Firefox works for me.
