Follow-up to my original reply: I spoke too soon, having realized that YouTube Red content providers aren't likely doing it "instead of" but rather "in addition to" the content that makes up their bread and butter on the current free channels where they have ad revenue streams. That will actually make it an interesting revenue model for established content providers who have a significant fan base where people are more likely to be willing to pay for exclusive content.

What about people have subscription, then take you tube video and share via facebook or other social media.

As many of your readers, it's a big NO to this offers. I really don't mind for the little adds there are. I found everything that I need for free. Thanks for sharing.

No way will I pay anything for YouTube, even if it is not available without a paid subscription.

Well, as much as I love YT, it's free status is why it is ubiquitus. BTW, however I have my laptop set up, I NEVER see YT ads before or during my viewing - ever! (and was shocked when I first saw them on friends' PCs) - so why would I pay for something I already (don't) have?

NO. You tube was originally set up to ha place for all to post videos to share.... As I understand it. --- that has been the interest of many... now they have ads and it is harder to navigate to see stuff. Will move on to other sites if they charge....

The price is excessive. I don't even pay $10 a month for Netflix. If they want anyone to pay any attention to this, then they need to reduce the price radically. I might pay $2 a month, if I had the ability to download videos to my computer. I agree with you, though. Ads are simply not a problem. I don't care if they make some money. I actually watch most ads, too (I'll skip it if I've just watched it 5 times!).

I watch a lot of educational and instructive Youtube content and like to stream music at work so YouTube Red is worth it to me to avoid sitting through ads and watch what I want uninterrupted.

$10/month!??
This granite-scrabbling New Hampshire pinchpenny says "No" to that.

I will not be trying YouTube Red. Most of my YouTube watching is of how-to videos and quite often the ad is connected with the subject of the clip.
