Very late to this party, but I have to say that it's really not appropriate to present Microsoft 365 as though it's just the latest version of MS-Office, because it's so much more than that - an entire ecosystem. The $100/year Family or even the $70/year Personal subscriptions are huge bargains. Getting 1TB of cloud storage per seat, particularly under Family, is an insane bargain. When you couple that with the fact that you can legally install M365 on up to 5 devices per seat (whereas the standalone Office versions were, for most home and small business users, only for one machine), it's so much less expensive. I love being able to instantly access my data under Windows across multiple machines and under Android due to OneDrive. I have, and will continue to recommend free office suites if that's the only thing a user wants. But that's often not the only thing a user wants these days now that we're deep into the era of cloud computing. |
