How about replacing a cab file? Specifically SKU051.

EDITOR'S NOTE: Wouldn't it best to get it from the Windows installation CD? You might also try the I386 folder. It might be there with a "CA_" file extension.

For replacing missing DLL files, I just typed the DLL name in Google's search bar, pressed search, and viola...there it was!

Windows also whines if it finds an unattached DLL and stops the boot. I used the resources above to discover that it was a DLL connected with a printer that I had removed from the system. I then carefully edited that line in the registry to remove the reference to the DLL to eliminate this minor annoyance.

You mention DLL-file.com but I would rather recommend DLL-files.com (with an 's' at the end) They have a better updated list of needed dll-files.

Doesn't each file depend on the OS one is using. Or does it matter? Some sites don't put the DLL files according to the OS. Isn't that dangerous?

I am missing a "Psligo49.dll" file, where can I get it?

Can anyone help me, I seem to have been messing a little too much with my pc and have obviously done some damage re. Error and missing dll files. Is there any way I can just download all missing dll files as I don't know the name of them and frankly it would take me months lol. Also with error notices about parameters, error code is 1/10100/8000/6800. The parameters are 1/1012/10100 doc 4536.

First of all, I would to commend you on this excellent website. I attempted to run the scan but my computer suddenly restarts every time I do it. I have already disabled the automatic restart feature. And switched the memory, video card, and even changed my fan! I know the problem has something to do with heat because when my comp got up to 65 or 70 degrees it would automatically restart. With the new fan it stays a LOT cooler, @ 37 or so, but the problem still occurs! I can replicate the problem by opening certain programs, such as the SCV /SCANNOW. Help would be greatly appreciated!

Earlier I was using "Windows XP" with "FAT" format. Now I changed to "NTFS" format. I found that there is no system file checker is running, if the computer becomes down due to power failure[which had run when the same "windows XP" was in "FAT"]. I searched a lot and I got information that in "XP" with "NTFS" format it will not be there and power failure is not at all a problem. Is it correct? From the site "http://www.updatexp.com/scannow-sfc" it is understand that checking can be done with "SFC /SCANNOW". Though I tried all the methods prescribed in there, the "SFC /SCANNOW" is not working. What else I can Do? pl. advise. Sojan, Kerala, India.

Well, you can always try http://www.dll4free.com/ and download the missing dlls... Saved me many times...

I'm running xp pro sp3 and ran the scannow and it keeps asking me for a cd to restore missing dll, but does not say which. I don't have a cd it was downloaded via Microsoft update manager automatically. Is there any other way to solve this. I tried looking to redownload the SP3 patch but cannot find it and found that you have to ininstall IE7 if you do this. I've been stuck for days trying to fix errors and download NEt Framework from scratch. Got to 3.0 and it will not do it. The lost .dll has become a priority and perhaps the solution to the framework 3 error in downloading. Anyone know how to find/diagnose which .dll are missing? Thank you.

Well, Bob, you pretty well screwed me up with your NON-answer to the question about msmgr32.dll. You didn't tell me what the file is used for; you didn't even answer the question of the person who asked it. All you did was point him/her/us at a company that has no intention of helping, but of only making $$$$$. I supposedly downloaded msmgr32.dll, but it is nowhere in my system. What is going on here? Are you TOTALLY insincere about helping people who ask you questions? Are you, too, only out for $$$ with all the ratty advertisers who jam me up when I'm trying to get help? You might do everyone a favor by jumping off a cliff!

I did not recommend using DLL-files.com -- I linked to DLL-file.com (note the missing "S") in the article.

DLL-file.com does not charge a fee to download DLLs. And for the record, your harsh, angry words are misdirected. I do do my best to respond to the hundreds of emails I get every day, without charging a penny.

My problem is my wireless Mouse (Microsoft Mobile 3000)I have had the same Model Mouse since I bought my Laptop 3 years ago..Acer Extensa 5220 Vista Home Basic.

All of a sudden the Mouse strts to Lag and freeze then come good again..I downloaded Microsoft Intelli-Point and that didnt really do much..I have tried other solutions Bob but the problem still persists..Any Ideas?

EDITOR'S NOTE: You'll need to use the registry editor and remove any keys that reference the program or DLL in your error messages. A registry cleaner such as CCleaner might be a safer route if you're not savvy with the registry.
