Hi Bob, are u some kinda philanthropist? You are a good man. No wonder these satellite tv sites only have a onetime charge.

Once you discover its the usual listing u wouldn't wanna come back. http://itisblue.com/?dl=1 also offer the same listing of sites but its absolutely free. except those crawling ads.

EDITOR'S NOTE: NO WAY would I download that thing! More than likely it's loaded with viruses and spyware. If it truly offers the "same listing of sites" then there is NO NEED to download anything. Warning, Danger, WIll Robinson!

I'm curious why you are warning people NOT to purchase and download the software being discussed since you have paid advertising for it on this site?

EDITOR'S NOTE: I've addressed that in the comments a few times already... Here's my new answer for 2008: Some people WANT to believe the lie, despite all evidence to the contrary. Those ads are for them. :-)

I have direct tv for the past 6 yrs. I want to replace on of my receivers(Hughes) with a DVR.I don't have HD tv. What can I replace it with without having to be hooked into an 18 or 24 month agreement.

EDITOR'S NOTE: I don't understand why connecting a DVR to your television would involve a service agreement. It might be best to go to an electronics store, explain your setup, and ask for advice on what to buy.

CAUTION --- www.channelchooser.com link above loaded a spyware upon visting the the site. The site opens up another site trying to get you to load spyware remover and is difficult to cancel. Norton finds "Downloader" in two temporary internet files. I would not go to that site and will not go back.

EDITOR'S NOTE: Hmmm, doesn't happen here... What did you click on there?

I found a page on squidoo talking about Satellite TV for PC and almost every single comment left by others users are saying it's a great service. I'm not getting this!? Is it good or bad then? They're saying it's good and your saying its bad!?! I think I'm going to give it a try. Will let you know if it works. I'm in need of that extra money at the moment rather than wasting it on SKY!

EDITOR'S NOTE: Squidoo is a haven for scammers and slimy affiliate plays. You can bet the owner of that page is getting a commission on sales of the SAT-TV software. I would assume the comments are bogus as well. Say goodbye to your $49...

Hey I just wasted that 40 bucks and its for a program that doesn't work and it lets u download programs that u can already download for free. So I called my bank and stopped payment to them cuz it a big f@^$%ing scam. Don't waste ur hard earned money, but if u do u can always stop the payment if u act fast.

Isn't it software you use to watch tv on the internet ? You must pay to download it so it isnt free. Cant you get the amount of channels (premium and local) they claim ? What about CNN, ABC, FOX, MTV, Eurosport, Cartoons (they say about 60 known channels). I didnt buy it but do you still have to pay after the initial payment to see something ? They dont claim that it is the same as satellite tv with a dish ? One thing though : Al Jazeera is from Qatar and not from Iran like they mention so you would say that they should know that.

I tried the web tv as suggested by Sandra for http://www.tvonline.2ya.com but it was just all radio stations, no tv at all that I could find. How can it have a URL as tvonline with just radio links? Seems like anything goes on the Internet now. Any real info would be much appreciated.

hey guys its may be true that the satellitetopc is a scam. However this technology is called iptv and its very real.. china has has it for the last 2 years.. it will only be a matter of time before the cable and satellite companies will have some real competition.. internet tv also know as iptv will change the way we watch tv!! you will now have the option to see tv online, just like the voip(voice over internet protocol) took the phone industry and you can now make international calls for dirt cheap. the only thing holding back this technology from coming into the market is the u.s. government and i am sure the big cable and satelitte companies are trying to prevent at least until they can find a way to integrate with iptv.

EDITOR'S NOTE: IPTV is not limited to China. Verizon offers video-on-demand IPTV service on their FIOS service.

Yes you can get free satalite on your PC, Its true because I have had this program before. It is a scam tho because you can easly get free programs 100% Free with more channels and 100% Legal, exept when you buy that its Better Quality. It isnt really a scam its a rip off

EDITOR'S NOTE: That's comforting to know... I *so* much enjoy a good ripoff, rather than a nasty scam.

Good satellite TV software for PC does exist. Unfortunately some unreliable software also are on the market. One can check a good one at http://XXXXXX-on-pc.blogspot.com/ [link obfuscated]

EDITOR'S NOTE: Sigh... another thinly veiled affiliate link, for bogus, ripoff scamware. You really should be ashamed, Mr. (ummm) Smith.

I clicked on one of the ads you've got running at the top of the page and paid for that service as I thought it would be ok if it's on your page. But it's useless, aren't you contradicting yourself saying it's rubbish on here then letting them advertise on here??!

EDITOR'S NOTE: As I've mentioned before, the Google ads are not under my control, and are *supposed* to be relevant to the content of the page. In an ironic way, even those scam ads are. My hope is that people will actually *READ* the article and understand why they should NOT believe the hype.

You don't need to buy anything. There are several websites that provide links to channels for free. A couple I use are www.trulytv.net and www.tvonpc.co.nz . Lots to choose from.
