Free Satellite TV on PC? - Comments Page 6

Hold on there… Why must this be a SCAM? The problem with these PC Satellite TV software products (or whatever variation of the term) is how the term Satellite TV is used. This is confusing to many people. Indeed this term is used as a marketing ploy to generate Worldwide interest. No LEGAL PC Satellite TV software will provide free Satellite and/or Cable TV channels/programming that comes directly from any paid TV networks or Satellite. Also, LEGAL PC Satellite TV products don’t decode or descramble any signals. In fact, these type of TV players (software) have nothing to do with signals. Instead they access, retrieve, and stream media files from the World Wide Web such as, clip, video, audio, and text files. As for newbies, the bottom-line is obtaining the quickest and easiest gateway to getting access to 1000s of free live/recorded TV and radio channels Worldwide, either PC Satellite TV software or Live Satellite TV Feeds Networks which are also proprietary software. The best way to watch regular TV, Satellite TV, and Cable TV on a computer is PCTV hardware. http://pcsatellitetv-review.blogspot.cmo/2008/06/how-pc-satellite-tv-software-works-and.html EDITOR'S NOTE: Exactly what I've been saying. It's sad and ironic that you recommend a HARDWARE solution here, and yet you link to your own blog which advertises the very same SOFTWARE that I've been warning people about. |

You are a fool. You rant on how things don't work yet your website has sponsored links to buy the very thing you say is a scam. To whom it may concern. I use Satellite on PC. Infact I even sell it. I run genkaiunlimited . com -- a personal website dedicated to offering personally tested services. EDITOR'S NOTE: Hooray for you... you started a website YESTERDAY with little else but affiliate links to the VERY SAME SCAMWARE that I'm telling people to avoid, and we should take you seriously? |

not bad but personall I disocvered these things were a scam long back after having bought 3 or 4 of them (stupidity on my part), and then recently found http://www.freetube.us.tc which basically offers the same channels for free. I checked out a few of the ones you listed some aren't worth your time like worldtvpc way too many affiliate links on that one. So I stick with FreeTube. EDITOR'S NOTE: FreeTube appears to be broken. Many of the channels I tried would work. They are hosted on a freebie webhost, so the service may be unreliable. |

Processing free-air broadcast signals is not the same as intruding into a company-owned cable system. One is dealing with *broadcast* signals that are sent forth, to where ever they may end up; the other is a closed system, owned/maintained/operated and property of the company. By your logic, if I play music in my backyard, and you hear it, your a thief and owe me money...:-P EDITOR'S NOTE: Bad analogy... it's more like looking into your neighbor's window to watch the pay-per-view on their TV. Or tapping into your neighbor's wireless internet... that's over the air too, right? Or listening to their wireless phone conversations? All good? |

Bob, your apparently a total guppy. EVERYONE who comes accross your site from searching satellite tv for pc knows your one of the biggest liers and loosers OF ALL TIME. No one in the real world likes anyone who acts and does what you do. Period. -john a happy satellite tv for pc owner. EDITOR'S NOTE: OK, I'm a fish. But it's interesting that you spelled "liar" wrong and wrote "looser" instead of "loser" -- makes me wonder if that was a Freudian slip. :-) |

Hi! I bought PC Satellite TV (Crackle Network) and Norton picked up the .exe file as infostealer.gampass trojan. BEWARE! After reading the fine print which, by the way, is not provided before purchase, they disclaim responsibility for a number of things like identity theft and trojans. Goes to show you that they know about the virus. |

Fran...hold the control button down when clicking on a link in ChannelChooser. Unfortunately, I don't think this site does anything more than consolidate various web site freebies. I don't have cable. I wish the NFL would offer me a pay for view service to watch the games on my PC. |

WOW!!!! I have seen many of theses ads. I went to my local computer store here in the Greater Cleveland OH area. (Micro Center) I bought a program $39.95 called Digital TV 4 PC. Its works! If it was scrap, I do not thing Micro Center would be selling it. Plus if you are not happy with your purchase, they will give you a refund ( up to 30 days). EDITOR'S NOTE: Smith Micro Software does make a product called Digital TV 4 PC (DTV4PC) which is probably what you bought. It's not really any different than the "PC Satellite TV Elite" crapware that we see all over the place. You are NOT getting access to anything that's not already freely available on the Web. What this software provides is a basically searchable list of websites that offer streaming video. You could use Google to find the same info for free. |

I got this program to watch college football on one of the supposed 3000 channels. I believe this is the most worthless pieces of software ever imagined. Not only can you not find anything worth watching, but the quality is horrible. I wish I hadn't wasted my time and money. |

http://projectfree.tv -- was suggested as a nice source for Movies and TV on your PC. EDITOR'S NOTE: All the copyright violations you can eat... in one convenient location. Whee! |

HBO FOR FREE As you say..."Sorry, but there's no way to turn your PC into a satellite dish and get free HBO. But there is some good news..." yes indeed the good news is there is this address where you can watch HBO FREE!!! http://www.cool-tv.net/ GO TO THE TV ONLINE SECTION and you will find hbo from some countrys...ENJOY IT. EDITOR'S NOTE: When I tried, it wanted me to download and install some sort of plugin. MAJOR RED FLAG... Warning, Danger! |

I have to chip in and say you are right Bob. I also was hoping to watch college football, and I figured with 3000 channels they had to have the ABC/CBS/NBC affiliate from my old hometown. Well, as everyone has said, the quality is crap, most "channels" are never on, and the few that are are stupid community access channels of stuff that you don't want to see. |

Good Afternoon, Bob! I wish I had seen your info before I spent my $40 bucks the program worked for a little while than it shut down completely and as you said I never got any the channels I was promised. How I got into this was from CNET saying it was suppose to be free and I ended up in the scam part of the system which intercepts any info you try to get. Like you said the free part does exist. But they seem to have there program written to over ride that info when you put it in on the internet search. I just wanted to thank you for warning others and no you are not crazy or jealous...paying for only receiving international program that someone has stolen isn't my idea of a deal, nor pirate programming from China or any other foreign nation. Thanks again and keep up the good work. |

You should go to a good review site such as Pcsatellitetelevision.xyz they will explain in detail which ones are good and which ones are bad. I used that site when I joined and have had nothing but a good experience with the software I purchased. EDITOR'S NOTE: That is SO lame. It's obvious this is YOUR own affiliate scamware site. You didn't even bother to fix the typos, or try to obscure your Clickbank links. (I've obfuscated the URL above...) |

Bob - Internet Radio is not imune to the (free) "TV on PC scam." A firm called "Aluratek" is selling a USB jump drive for free internet radio. It is sold at Amazon and I have seen them on eBay. While it is not as "scam-my" as "FreeTV on PC," it is another kind of a ripoff. Apparently it's just a list of net radio stations, some of the more popular audio players and a GUI. All for $30 or so, for what should be freeware / free info. |
