I HAE WINDOWS 10!!! I have tried by all means Microsoft recommend to go back to 8.1 which I like. No luck. Error messages everywhere and nothing on MS website what they mean or how to fix them Apple must be estastic as there will be droves of people heading their way. I'm buying a new 8.1 OS system and do a clean install. Thanks for the earning. |

THANK YOU CHRIS FOR YOUR EXPLANATION OF MY QUESTION. |

I got information from PC-pit stop for GXW Control Panel. After having performed all the steps you gave us I still had that nagware window and every three days had to reschedule. |

So far i have been closing rhe nagware window and hiding recurring updates for it. I have found that windows updates seems to be turning on the other updates even though i have it set for download and let me tell you when to do it. The last couple of times i have checked to see if updates were available and I left them unchecked, my computer said do not shut down or power off your computer, updating x1 of x updates at shut down. It seems to like doing it when i am shutting down and restarting to update a driver or in a hurry to go out for an appointment. It is really annoying. |

""I have GWX control panel watching for Windows 10, will I still wake up to Windows 10 one day? I have Windows 8.1 "" |

MS tried that on me today. In my half-asleep state I think it said it was installing W10 upgrades--I have W7--and "do not turn off computer". I turned it off & when it was turned back on all was ok. I changed the Windows Upgrade schedule to do upgrades only after asking me. Sick, sick of MS. |

Just noticed that my system was scheduled to download Windows 10 at 11pm (PST)tonight/yesterday. Earlier, I had downloaded GWX Control Panel. Hope I don't wake up Wednesday morning with a new Windows 10 OS. I will keep all posted on the results. |

I've used Win10wiwi on one desktop pc and on three laptops running Win7. I got rid of the Get Windows 10 popups and the machines keep working as usual. One of 56 virus scanners in VirusTotal flags Win10wiwi11015.exe as malware. If Win10wiwi really were malware, it would be flagged as malware by many more virus scanners by now. |

Bob, like @Butch, followed your instructions from EYNKAWindows 4th Edition and several weeks ago uninstalled KB3035583. Just for a last minute check, found it had be reinstalled. Just uninstalled it again. Followed all the steps. Keeping fingers crossed to see what I wake up with tommorrow. I was in Redmond in Sept. 2015; I wish I knew what I know now, I would have walked into their office and gave them what for....I mean! |

I downloaded the update to Windows 10 about a month ago and have found it OK. I think where you need to be careful is accepting the default acceptance of the apps Win 10 wants to impose. So read the small print and think about what a Win 10 tries to impose on you. |

One of the pc's on our network at work was forcefully upgraded to Win 10 on Monday. Now I have to go around to the other 13 or so pc's to make sure they are not scheduled for an automatic upgrade. We have too many people who are not computer savvy to make the switch so unexpectedly. Glad I saw this article because I thought our salesman was mistaken when he said he did not prompt the upgrade himself. |

After months of just saying NO to w-10, it got me. I turned on my computer and it it asked me to "accept" all the crap about W10... I hit NO and then had a chance to go BACK and return to my previous which was W7. It took a few minutes but I'm back!!! |

I'm on my cell because Win 10's nagware took over our desktop computer this morning with their OWN bluescreen. Turning off and back on was of no help. I haven't been back to it yet, but I'm hoping it has not installed Windows10. Still,we cannot get in; it is blocking ALL movements. Extremely stressful. Grrr! |

I actually decided to allow the Win10 to install on a touch screen all in one that is running Win7. Nightmare. Download went fine. Started installing, that seemed to work okay. Then in it's infinite wisdom, Win10 decide to update before finishing the install. After letting it spin for hours I stopped it. Well, that also deleted the download...started getting error messages. After trying this two times, started searching for help. Microsoft was no help (big surprise)and most reading wanted me to do registry hacks, delete all sorts of files that I was not comfortable doing. Guess I won't be getting windows 10. |

They did it to me a week ago Sunday. I followed the instructions on how to revert back to Windows 7 and my computer crashed. It cost me $175 (and counting) to get it fixed. Does anyone know if I can get Microsoft to pay??? |

I would fight the update. Too many bugs in Windows 10. I keep losing the "start" button each time it's updated. Very annoying! |

I had a system upgraded without my consent to Windows 10 months ago. This machine was not compatible and the manufacturer strongly advised against upgrading to Windows 10 as it requires a BIOS upgrade and other drivers that they haven't released. Microsoft decided that this laptop was a good candidate for upgrading to Windows 10 and I woke up the next morning with a strange looking screen and a message that there was a problem with my Windows 10 upgrade and it is trying to fix it. After 15 hours I shut off the laptop and when I turned it back on it wouldn't even start. I was eventually able to get the Windows 7 installation disk to work and tried re installing Windows 7 but it failed. Since I am out a laptop are there any vendors who offer new laptops without a installed OS (especially Windows 10)? All the new laptops have Windows 10 pre-installed and after the problems I had uninstalling Windows 10 I would rather not have a pre-installed Windows 10 system and am looking to buy a laptop with nothing installed so I can install linux on it. Do any vendors offer pre-installed linux systems? |
